Special
reminders:

6 February, 2017 Week 3, Term 1, 2017
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK: Dear Parents and Friends of Cawdor PS
Our term is now well underway and the children are settling well into their
new classes. This week we will be asked to confirm our student numbers and
hopefully maintain the four classes. Parents are invited to come along next
Wednesday evening (15 February) to find out more about the class
arrangements and programs for the year—I hope you will be able to join us
on the night.
The level of parental support at the start of this year has been greatly
appreciated and we look forward to seeing many parents at our first P&C
meeting this afternoon. Ms Gisela Harter will once again be working with
some of our children in Mathematics and Literacy and we are very excited
to have her with us again this year.
Our first assembly will be held this Wednesday morning at 9.00 am. The
new Student Councillors, Sports Captains and Enviro Power members will
be presented with their badges at this assembly which will be run by Year
6. This term assemblies will be held fortnightly in the odd weeks and
newsletters will also be sent home in the odd weeks.
Our swimming carnival with Mount Hunter will take place on Thursday
this week and we are looking for parents to help out as officials on the day.
Please make sure that the carnival permission notes are returned by
Wednesday.
Our School Counsellor, Mr Phil Smithers, had his first visit to our school
last Friday. He will be at the school every second Friday morning from
8.30 to 12.00 to assist with the welfare of our students.
At Cawdor we encourage open communication with parents and carers
and the teachers are happy to discuss concerns before and after school
unless, for duty of care reasons, the teacher is on duty or the bell has rung.
If a longer discussion is required please arrange a time for an interview
that is convenient for both yourself and your class teacher.
Looking forward to seeing you at our school events and meetings in the next
two weeks.
Kind Regards
Ms Sharon Ihlein
Principal
