Special
reminders:
The next P&C meeting will be held today, Monday 6 March at 3.20pm in the Echidnas’ classroom. Children will be supervised in another room. All welcome.
6 March, 2017 Week 7, Term 1, 2017
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK: Dear Parents and Friends of Cawdor PS
We are now over halfway through the term and I am very pleased with the
way the children are working. I have been very proud of the work the
children are doing and of their motivation in their learning. The teachers are
currently collecting artwork which will be entered into the Camden Show
and the Enviro Power group is planning their scarecrow—a person about
town. Special thanks to Mrs Van de Vate who has offered to assist the group
to make the scarecrow in Mrs Le Good’s absence. Mrs Le Good is currently
on leave following hip replacement surgery and we wish her all the best for a
speedy recovery.
A team of students represented Cawdor at the Razorback zone swimming
carnival last week. Congratulations to all the students on their good
sportsmanship and excellent representation of the school, despite the rainy
weather. Special congratulations to Cassie Nash, Caleb Pritchard, Troy
Sitkowski and Jessica Lee who have been selected to represent our school in
the Area carnival next week. Thank you again to the parents who assisted
with transport to the carnivals and to Mrs Cocks and Mrs Sitkowski who
acted as our team official and manager.
Last weekend a large tree in the staff carpark was removed after being
identified as a serious risk, with some of its limbs dying, as well as a smaller
tree in the church grounds, a dead tree near the containers and two wattles
at the front of the office. The removal of the trees is in line with the Trees in
Schools policy guidelines, to help to ensure safety in the school grounds.
Next week an introductory report for each child will be sent home. The
report will give an indication as to how the children have settled into the
new year. If you wish to speak to your child’s teacher please contact the
school to make a meeting time.
Also coming up next week is our Grandparents and Grandfriends day so I
hope the date is marked on your calendars and invitations have been
extended to all grandparents and grandfriends. The day is always a very
special one for all families and we hope you are able to join us.
Hoping to see you at the P&C meeting this afternoon.
Kind Regards
Ms Sharon Ihlein
