Analysis and Reflection:

From my analysis on Fudge-a-mania, I determined that we would need to read further into the book to complete a determination on if the standard was met. As we are finishing the book, we are testing on a few chapters at a time. At the end we will complete a comprehensive quiz, in which our students will have to answer and explain their answers.

Teaching Philosophy

My philosophy hasn’t changed much, except for the fact of working with a different age group has it’s own challenges. My younger children at Head Start are very loving and nurturing. My 2nd graders are loving but very independent at the same time, and they like to prove their independence when doing things. One thing that I have brought from one to another is for a child to be willing to learn, you have to make them want to learn it. If it is not interesting or boring to them, you don’t have a chance. Neither does the child.

School Meetings

Throughout my 15 weeks of candidate teaching, I attended 5 SST meetings. As a committee with the parents, we planned our next steps in each child’s education.

I attended monthly faculty meetings as well as weekly grade level meetings.

We would meet every week in our grade level to discuss our planning of lessons for the next week.

I attended the Fall Festival as well as the Christmas Choral Concert that 2nd grade performed at.
