Learning For All Ages Sunday Morning

Children’s Sunday School Children meet in the Preschool building (the building behind the fellowship hall) on Sunday mornings. Contact Beth Posey at [email protected] for questions.

Classroom 1 (9:45am): Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White by Adam Hamilton. Books are available for $15.

Classroom 2 (9:45am): Changed Imagination, Changed Obedience by Rev. Dr. Natalie K. Houghtby-Haddon.

Online Book Group Are you interested in a study group, but timing is difficult? The on-line book group is beginning two new books! Callings, A StoryCorps Book by David Isay which looks at the purpose and passion of work and Carry On, Warrior: The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life by Glennon Doyle Melton is a touching look at being who we are, where we are. The format of the group is to receive an e-mail once a week with a starter question or thought. Participants in the group respond as they feel led (or not) to the whole group as we move through the book. For information, or to sign up, please contact Beth Posey at [email protected].

Praying Wives Every morning, wives can receive an e-mail guiding towards loving God and loving our husbands. Today’s e-mail: “Do not remember the former things. Nor consider the things of old. I will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:18-19) Passages and notes are from Stormie O’Martin’s Power of a Praying Wife. To get more information e-mail Beth Posey at [email protected].

E-Giving Is Safe and Secure E-Giving is Safe and Secure If you missed church on a Sunday because of the weather, illness, or vacation you can be sure your offering is counted if you have signed up for E-Giving. Calvary Hiring a Youth Leader We are now hiring a Youth Leader. The website will have more information and details. The position will remain open until filled. Visit www.calmeth.org.

UMCMarket.org—It Really Works! Shopping and Supporting Calvary UMC! As an online shopper, you can give “micro-donations” to Calvary through UMCMarket.org: Go to www.umcmarket.org and designate “Calvary Arlington VA” as your organization. When you use UMCMarket.org to shop, a percentage of your purchase (donated by the retailer)– combined with the purchases of others – are donated back to your church. Every time we raise $100, a check is sent to the church. Not a current user? Go to www.umcmarket.org and Log in. Be sure to share www.umcmarket.org with family and friends. We have received some funds already, generated because of on-line shopping and Calvary’s designation as a recipient of funds. Thank you!!!

Calvary on Facebook Have You Been to Our Page Yet? Photos from various activities, (including the Church-Wide Mission Trip to S.P.Y. in Christiansburg), events, and other information is posted on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CalvaryUMC22202. Take a look!

If you would like to add a name to this list (please check to be sure it’s okay to share), please submit it in writing by using a prayer card during worship or sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Names will be kept on the list for one month unless a written extension or removal is requested. The date following each name is when the request was submitted to the church office. September 13 (9/14) Scott McKinley: undergoing treatment for cancer (9/14) Nick P. who is dealing with family issues (9/14) The family of Chloe W. who passed away (9/6) Randy Gracey (who tripped in her garden, but is only
