And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; itshall rejoice in His salvation. Psalms 35:9

When David penned this Psalm he wasin a lot of trouble. He was being persecut-ed and pursued by his enemies. He wasmore than likely fearful for his very life.Although he did ask the Lord to take careof those that were pursuing him, he knewthat his ultimate joy would be in his salva-tion from his enemies and not their destruc-tion. He was completely and totally de-pending on the Lord for protection and hisjoy came from his faith in God.

David knew the Lord, he knew His wayswell. After all, didnt God call him a manafter His own heart? He knew the joy foundin the Lord is often found in the midst of thetrial. Author Leo Buscaglia tells this story ofhis mother and their misery dinner. It was

the night after his father came home andtold the family it looked like they were go-ing to have to shut down the family busi-ness. It seems that the partner that abscond-ed with all the money. There was nothingleft. His mother upon hearing the news soldher jewelry to buy food for a scrumptious

feast. The family members scolded her forit, but she told them that the time for joy isnow when we need it the most. Her act en-couraged the family to be joyful in the Lordregardless of the circumstances.

I think there is a difference between

happiness and joy. Happiness is caused bythings that happen around me and circum-stances will mar it, but joy flows right onthrough the trouble; joy flows on through

the dark; joy flows in the night as well asthe day; joy flows all through persecutionand opposition; it is an unceasing fountain

bubbling up in the believer, a secret springwhich the world cant see and doesnt know

anything about. The Lord gives his peopleperpetual joy when they walk in arm andarm with Him. D. L. Moody

We have just come to the close ofanother year. Many of you have gonethrough tremendous trials, heartaches, andlosses this past year, but just like David, justlike Leo Buscaglias mother, and just like D.

    L. Moody you have all rejoiced in the Lordof the truth. Im sure the New Year has its

own set of hardships just waiting for us, butI am confident that a God who loves usenough to hang on a cross and die will loveus through any hardship that comes ourway. Jesus is our reason to rejoice in themidst of our struggles and grief. Stay closeto Him this next year and remember alwaysthat In His presence is the fullness of joy.

    Sweet sound in Your ear

    God Knows

No matter what I say or do,My work is never done;I cannot find the time to pray,Or get away alone. My house, my friends; Lord pity me!Ive time for them, but none for Thee!

The children worry me to death,The breakfast things are there; The stockings all unmended yet,And I have had no prayer! What shall I do with all these cares? My heart is full of doubts and fears!

When John comes home, Im all done up;We used to kneel and pray,But since the children came, you know,Thats all been done away!So much to do, the children fret; And I, alas! too soon forget.

Theres something wrong with me, I know,I never meant it so;When things go wrong, ah, woe is me!The sharp word, or the blow!God needs to calm my troubled sea,But He must first rule over me!

The washing of a kitchen floor,Is known to God above; He knows it when the children cry,His very name is Love! When clothes wont dry, and folks dont care,

God stands behind me, even there!

My God, take Thou my hand in Thine!I am no use at all;Unless Thou rulest me and mine,The house is sure to fall!Whateer I do, whereer I be,Rule over everything for me!

    Fruit of Her Hands Ministry

    Gods Love Empowers

    One Man to Share Joy

    with Others

Mr. Wa retired Navy Veteran, began a little overtwo years ago reaching out to others through the minis-

try of warm blankets, hats and scarfs. No, he didnt

learn how to knit, crochet or sew, but he saw a need and

found a way to share Gods love with others.

Mr. W. found there was a need in our community for

those who are less fortunate. He also became aware

of a group of talented women from Spanish Springs

who were knitting and crocheting blankets, hats and

scarves as a way of healing hearts full of sadness. It

was a perfect combination for God to work in broken

hearts and bring love, joy and healing.

When Mr. W. heard that Calvary Chapel Reno-

Sparks had a ministry called, Fruit of Her Hands and

that the women involved in this ministry had the desire

to share Gods love and joy with others through the

making of warm fleece blankets, Mr. W. became so

encouraged. Here in his own home church God was

growing a ministry that brought such blessings to oth-

ers and he was feeling blessed to be part of it.

Mr. W. has now collected several hundreds of hats,

scarfs and blankets. He has given these blankets to

military veterans, elderly men and women, our com-

munity program of Christmas on the Corridor

abused women and children and others.

As part of Fruit of Her Hands Ministry here at Calvary

Chapel Reno-Sparks, we pray we will be able to con-

tinue to bring Gods love and joy to others through the

blanket ministry. If you would like to help with the

blanket portion of Fruit of Her Hands Ministry, you are

welcome to participate by donating fleece, helping us

tie blankets or knitting/crocheting blankets at home

    you would like to donate.

Fruit of Her Hands MinistryFruit of Her Hands Ministry meets quarterly throughout

the year. The focus of this ministry is to encourage

one another through fellowship; to learn, practice or

teach home making skills of cooking, crafting and sew-

ing, and to share Gods love through compassion and

    kindness to others.

This coming year Fruit of Her Hands will

    be meeting:

    March 8, 2014; May 10, 2014;

    July 12, 2014; and November 8, 2014.

Please watch the bulletin and Womens Ministry Coun-

    ter for more information.

    Titus 2

    Unbroken JoyBy Beverly Chong

When my spirit has been broken with unbearable pain

I will count on His Joy to sustain me once again.

Though my life be turned upside down and left scattered in pieces,

My hearts eyes will see His hands holding each one

Making needed changes to fit each season.

Disappointment and discouragement surround me with no room

    for understanding,

But the awareness of my Lords presence

Joyfully comforts me beyond any questioning.

My body may be crushed, with health slipping away,

But the truth He placed in my heart always reminds me

He promised never to leave, but to stay.

You see, the presence of the Lord is your Joy. Its the joy that surpasses all understanding (Phil.

4:7). It is also a command from God (Psalm 37:4). God gives us many commands that are based

on obedience; actions that could never be done within our abilities. But it is also a gift from God.

It is the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) that we had nothing to do in creating for ourselves.

We are not capable of being joyful all the time, especially when our hearts are grieving; when our

hearts are filled with bitterness and anger, or when we are faced with a mountain of questions

and impossible circumstances which cause us to want to scream, run away and give up. We all

tend to look at our circumstances as physical and tangible, not spiritual as God sees them. Joy is

our gift from God, when our focus is purposefully taken off our pain, discouragement, disappoint-ment, failures, and feelings of downright spiritual destitution and placing that focus above it all,

on His presence of immense love for us. Knowing and accepting all of this, equips us with

    strength to experience unbroken joy.

May our precious Lord Jesus caress your heart with His great love and cause you to be filled

with His Joy, His gift that surpasses All of your understanding.

    Ministry has been wait-

    Jesus And A Good Pair

    Of Jeans by Susanna

    Froth Aughtmon for quite

    some time now. Mostly

we are excited to begin a

new book that is fun and

    light hearted all while

attacking Womens Issues that we all face at

some point in lives, if not on a daily basis.

We all know what it is like to try and live

under the pressure of being a Self-Sufficient

Supergirl rather than being A Woman fully

dependent on the sufficiency of Jesus

Christ. In this book, Susanna writes in an

easy to read, conversational style on topics

of pride, worry, fatigue, beauty, jealousey,

and chocolate all while pointing to Gods

Truth found in His Word. If you have never

picked up a Womens Ministry Book Selec-

tion, All I Need Is Jesus And A Good Pair Of

Jeans would be a great book to start.

You are also welcome to join the Joyful

Unbroken Joy was the theme that we

were given to write about and when I pondered onthe word unbrokenit spoke of something continu-

ous and ongoing; and I am led to remember the deep

times of ongoing fellowship and joy that I experi-

ence when I am spending intimate time with my

Abba, allowing His Spirit to speak to me and remind

me of His LOVE, His protection, His grace, His mer-

cy, His compassion, His forgiveness. His Word

speaks to the deepest parts of my soul, convicting

me, consoling me and cleansing me; and this is where

    I am renewed and refreshed

with the cleansing rain that only

    our God can bring.

I am reminded of times when

my car is dirty. The window that

I look out of is full of dead in-

    sect guts, droppings from birds

and just the normal ongoingfilth of not being cleaned. Then

the rain comes from above rid-

ding that window of all the filth

that had been allowed to stick to it. It is at this time

that I can begin to see and respond to the world

    around me with clearer vision.

We can apply this to our time spent with our Lord in

prayer and in the Word as He cleanses us of the filth

of the world that has stuck on us. The rain of Gods

Word refreshes us, renews us, fills us, gives us vision

to be about His business and we are encouraged to

press forward in service to the One that gave His life

for us. Hebrews 12:2 says, Looking unto Jesus, the

author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that

was set before Him,endured the cross, despising the

shame, and has sat down at the right had of the throne

of God. We, precious sisters, are the Joythat this

verse is talking about, so as Jesus went to the cross

looking forward to spending eternity with us; we with

grateful hearts should be looking forward to eternity

with our Redeemer. Yes, we will have hard times,

yes we will have trials, but our joy can be continuous

and unbroken as we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the

Author and Finisher of our faith.

Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that, The

Joy of the Lord is our strength.

The Holy Spirit in us, continues to

remind us of the things that Jesus has

said, He continues to calm us during

the calamities of life, He continues to

reassure us when our faith begins to

waiver, He continues to comfort us in

times of loss, He continues to give us

wisdom when we desperately need it,

and He continues to give us strength

to go the course. God in us is our

joy! Emmanuel God is with us!!

He is our strength. He will never leave us nor for-

sake us!!! John stated in 1 John 1:3-4, that which

we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you

also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fel-

lowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus

Christ. And these things we write to you that yourjoy may be full! I encourage you to not only stuff

yourself with food over this Christmas holiday, but

stuff yourself with Jesus this Christmas season and

    your joy will be full!!
