Cat® C175-16 Sound Attenuated Enclosure The Cat

® C175-16 sound attenuated enclosure provides Cat Dealers with the opportunity to purchase

Caterpillar designed, manufactured, tested and guaranteed sound attenuated enclosures specifically for the C175-16 generator set. Enclosures can be witness tested at the Caterpillar Facility before dispatch. Enclosures come with genset upfit complete, reducing installation time at site and allowing rapid commissioning at final site.

Standard Factory Installed Equipment

Feature Description General enclosure Durable, weather-resistant steel construction treated for corrosion resistance.

Floor Enclosure floor within genset compartment is bunded for spill containment. Contains 110% of the genset oil & coolant. Bund features leak detection sump.

Walls Corrugated steel sheet panels fully welded in position. Lined with mineral wool acoustic insulation and perforated galvanized metal sheets.

Roof Lined with mineral wool acoustic insulation and perforated galvanized metal sheets

Paint

Painted with environmentally white RAL 9001 polyester paint as standard for durability and appearance.

Genset mounting Integral within enclosure base and sized according to static requirements.

Attenuation Mineral wool covered with perforated galvanized metal sheets

Personnel access doors

Doors are supplied as required to provide service and personnel access. Doors are fitted with:

• hinges

• heavy duty handles

• industrial lock

• door latch

• slamlock type closing, complete with internal panic release bolts

Exhaust pipework Internal pipework insulated as required to prevent additional heat loads to the interior of the enclosure. Genset consist to include 16” horizontal exhaust collector.

Exhaust silencers Two off silencers located within enclosure and sized to meet required noise level. Thermal expansion taken into design consideration. Vertical discharge of exhaust gases.

Enclosure ventilation Enclosure ventilation provided by 4 off electric fans to dissipate heat radiated from engine, alternator and exhaust system. LV shore power connection required to enclosure distribution board to power enclosure ventilation equipment. Outlet air temperature monitoring, fan step and run sequence control included to reduce parasitic load during lower ambient conditions.

Fuel System 1000 liter fuel tank and interconnecting supply and return pipework to generator included. Fuel tank remote fill pipework included and terminated at outside edge of the enclosure. Tank includes float switch leak detection sender installed within second skin through a socket and a four position float level switch within the main tank. One spare 2” socket included on tank for fitting additional equipment by others.

Feature Description

Remote cooling package

Flatbed radiator selected to meet required ambient, altitude and noise level requirements. Free air circulation to remote cooling package is required and assumed to ensure correct operation. Interconnecting pipework and cabling from enclosure by others. LV shore power connection required to enclosure distribution board to power remote cooling package. Coolant expansion tanks included and mounted on remote cooling package.

Wiring All cabling is secured and protected within enclosure are required.

Auxiliary equipment Form 1 distribution panel provided for all container small power requirements. Wall mounted within enclosure.

Motor control centre Form 1 motor control centre provided for ventilation fans within enclosure Wall mounted within enclosure.

Lighting 230 VAC fluorescent lamps installed as standard and wired to distribution panel. Lamp come complete with reflector, safety guard, rapid start removable ballast and starter, improving power factor capacitor, and prismatic covers. Grounding connected to all necessary points. Single DC spot light fitted as standard above each door, powered from the genset battery via timed switch located at enclosure doors.

Emergency push buttons

Two off emergency push-buttons provided as standard. One located on each side of enclosure, close to access doors and recessed on outside of enclosure wall. Emergency push buttons wired to complete system with the genset.

Genset power cable exit

Cable exit provide at high level on LHS of enclosure wall. Cable exit supplied with a solid gland plate to be drilled and glanded as required at site by others

Genset batteries Caterpillar starting batteries, supplied with genset and installed according to Caterpillar guidelines for selected diesel genset

Earth connection Earth connections provided on enclosure base

Additional Cost Options Available • Remote cooling package mounted on roof of enclosure

• Automatic lube oil top up system fitted to genset, complete with lube oil tank within enclosure
