Informace pro studenty

Během zkoušky potřebujete pero/propisovací tužku, zadání testu a občanský průkaz.

Studenti, kteří test dokončí před vypršením časového limitu, ho odevzdají zkoušejícímu a odejdou.

BY51 SAMPLE TEST Speaking paper – 20 marks

Students are tested in pairs if possible. The speaking test is carried out during the written part of the exam. The exam has 4 parts:

1. Answering simple questions from the examiner for around 2 or 3 minutes.

For example:a. What’s your name?b. Can you spell your surname?c. Where do you live? Do you like living there?d. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?e. Have you ever been on a camping holiday? Did you like it/why

not? Etc.

2. Discussing a task together with your partner. The examiner will just listen. You should speak for 2 minutes, so should discuss all the options before making a final decision.

For example (see the picture on the next page):Examiner: I’m going to describe a situation to you. Imagine you go to a badly-equipped school. Your teacher has asked you for ideas about how to improve it. Talk about what improvements would be most useful.

3. Speaking alone for one minute about a photograph. The examiner and your partner will be silent.

For example (see photos on the pages following the Part 2 picture):Examiner: Here is a picture showing a place where people can go shopping. You have one minute to describe the picture; you can say anything you want to.

4. Discussion of a question connected with the topic of the photographs with your partner. The examiner will just listen.

This final part lasts about 2 or 3 minutes. For example:Examiner: Your pictures showed pictures of places where people can go shopping. Talk to your partner about where you go shopping
