Lewis Hamilton!• Lewis was born in Stevenage (Hertfordshire, England) on 7th of January 1985.•His birth mum is called Carmen and his dad is called Anthony; his parents divorced and his step mum is called Linda.•His brother (step mum’s son) is called Nicholas.•He was educated at The John Henry Newman School in Stevenage.

• Lewis was given his first kart when he was six years of age; and when he was eight he won several karting championships.• At the age of ten Lewis met Ron Dennis (McLaren's manager) and Ron offered him a job in Formula 1 when Lewis turned nineteen.

After much hard work by Lewis and the team; Lewis took his first F1 championship in 2007, his racing was impeccable and he only lost the championship in the last race!

However in 2008 after much preparation he was ready to give it another go . He was leading the championship, and all he had to get is 5th place or better whilst in Brazil (the last race). He stayed in 5th for most of the race but on the 3rd from last lap it began to rain and most stopped to change tyres but T.Glock didn’t; after pitting S.Vettel over took Lewis, putting him into6th place! On the last lap Glock spun off letting Lewis into 5th place giving him the championship!

He was announced world champion!

Accidents and IncidentsIn the Canadian 2008 grand prix Lewis crashed into the back of Kimi Raikkonen whilst exiting the pit lane. This occurred because Lewis did not notice Kimi queuing at the exit whilst the red light was showing.

On the 21st of July 2007 Lewis crashed into the eighth corner of the track Hockenheim (Germany), whilst in qualifying; the impact was horrific as he hit the tyre wall. He was lucky to be okay and was allowed to race the next day.

But Why?

My interest in Lewis came when I watched F1 before; I really enjoyed it until Lewis came, then I loved it. I really liked his racing attitude and his enormous amount of skill. He is the new Michael Schumacher!

Furthermore I admire Lewis’ late braking techniques, allowing him to gain a good lead or catch somebody easily.
