• Don’t buy a backlinking package

• Engage in link exchanges
• You link to me, and I link to you
• Create websites just for linking
• Trust someone who says they can get thousands of links in a few months
• Fall for words like “authority sites” or “buffer blog networks”
• Create fake social media profiles to link back to yourself
• Leave spammy comments on blogs/sites and place links in them
BACKLINKING DO’S
• Create great content that people will want to link to
• Post links to that content on relevant social media sites
• Make sure that your major directory listings all link to your site
• Write press releases and distribute them through legitimate companies
• Contact websites in your niche and ask to write guest posts on them

• A special you’re putting on
• A new blog post you wrote
• A specific service you’re now providing
• A new testimonial you’ve received
• Write a blog specific to a season, current event, etc, and then write a press release announcing the post

• 500-1000 words
• Write in 3rd person
• Relevant keywords in:
• Title
• Summary
• Content
• Link to different pages on your site
• Home page
• Keyword-specific pages
• Blog posts
• Use natural anchor text
• Different variants of the business name
• Domain name
• Post name
• Finish with an About Section to add more content
• Use images
