Dr Emma RobertsAssociate Principal LecturerEmma�has�recently�been�involved�in�the�design�and�delivery�of�new�Enterprise�modules�for�undergraduate�and�Masters�students.�Emma�also�focuses�on�enhancing�the�professional�development�and�employability�skills�of�students�across�our�programmes.��
Professor Denis KobzevDirector of Business EducationAs�well�as�a�successful�career�in�Industry�with�numerous�blue�chip�organisations,�Denis�also�has�extensive�experience�of�teaching�at�both�undergraduate�and�postgraduate�level.�
Nick BeatonAssociate Principal LecturerNick�has�more�than�25�years�of�professional�sales�and�marketing�experience,�having�held�senior�sales�and�marketing�positions�with�large�multinational�organisations�such�as�Nestlé,�R.J.�Reynolds�Tobacco�and�Bacardi-Martini�España.
Andrew GillilandAssociate Principal LecturerFollowing�a�career�in�corporate�finance�and�accountancy,�Andy�now�teaches�on�a�range�of�courses�for�the�department�at�undergraduate�and�postgraduate�level.

Impact on Business SuccessIn�the�first�academic�session,�we�will�be�using�a�simple�Business�game�simulation�in�teams�to�understand�how�fixed�and�variable�costs,�together�with�an�understanding�of�competitive�strategy,�can�impact�on�Business�success.

Marketing and Communications PlanIn�the�second�academic�session,�we�will�be�inviting�the�same�groups�to�work�together�to�devise�a�marketing�communications�plan�for�the�relaunch�of�a�well-known�supermarket�brand.

Student Life TalkFind�out�what�it�is�really�like�to�study�at�Leeds�Trinity�University�from�our�Student�Ambassadors�–�perfect�for�any�prospective�student!�The�talk�lasts�approximately�30�minutes�and�includes�a�welcome�from�our�Executive.

INFO HubThe�INFO�hub�will�be�open�throughout�the�day�where�you�will�get�the�chance�to�find�out�about�Finance,�Accommodation,�Student�Support�and�the�Students’�Union.�If�you�wish�to�speak�to�a�representative�from�any�of�these�areas,�they�will�be�available�from10.00am�until1.00pm.�
1.30pm - 3.00pmMain Reception
Campus ToursTake�a�tour�with�one�of�our�Student�Ambassadors�to�get�a�feel�for�our�campus,�including�our�halls�of�residence,�the�Andrew�Kean�Learning�Centre,�the�Media�Centre�and�our�sports�facilities.�Tours�last�approximately�45�minutes�to�an�hour,�and�will�depart�from�the�Main�Reception�on�a�regular�basis.

ParkingFree�parking�is�available�on�campus�for�the�Applicant�Day.�Upon�arrival,�please�look�out�for�our�Student�Ambassadors�who�will�guide�you�to�an�available�space.�For�more�information�about�getting�to�Leeds�Trinity�University,�please�see�the�back�page�of�this�guide.�
Food and DrinkThe�Dining�Room�and�Lounge�provide�a�wide�range�of�hot�meals,�drinks�and�snacks,�freshly�prepared�on�campus�using�local�produce�where�possible.�They�are�your�main�hubs�for�refuelling�on�campus,�and�will�be�open�from�9am�until�4pm�on�the�Applicant�Day.
GuestsYou�are�more�than�welcome�to�bring�your�friends�and�family�to�the�Applicant�Day.�If�you�do,�please�note�that�some�of�the�academic�workshops�are�for�prospective�students�only.��For�any�workshops�where�this�is�the�case,�it�is�indicated�on�the�programme�for�the�day,�along�with�a�suggested�activity�for�guests�accompanying�applicants.���

Key Dates for your diary
7 May 2014You will need to reply to all offers made by Leeds Trinity University by 7 May 2014.
31 May 2014You will need to apply for Student Finance by 31 May 2014 in order to receive your finance before you start university in September.
14 August 2014If you are studying this year you will receive your exam results on 14 August. Good luck!
22 September 2014Time to celebrate becoming a student at Leeds Trinity University - ‘Freshers’ Week’ begins!
What happens next?Making your decisionWhen�you�have�received�offers�from�all�universities,�UCAS�will�send�you�an�email�to�say�there’s�been�an�update.�You�will�then�need�to�go�through�UCAS�Track�to�make�your�replies.�You’ll�have�a�deadline�shown�in�Track�of�when�to�do�this�by�–�how�much�time�you�have�depends�on�the�time�of�year,�varying�from�a�week�to�five�weeks.
Replying to an offerFirm acceptance -This is your first choice. If�it’s�an�unconditional�offer,�the�place�is�yours!�If�it’s�conditional,�the�place�is�yours�if�you�meet�the�entry�requirements.�So�just�in�case�you�don’t,�you�can�pick�a�second�offer�as�a�backup�–�your�insurance�acceptance.
Insurance acceptance -The backup choice to a conditional firm acceptance.If�you’re�choosing�an�insurance�choice,�go�for�a�course�with�lower�entry�requirements,�
but�make�sure�it’s�somewhere�you’d�still�like�to�study.�Remember,�you�will�only�attend�your�insurance�choice�course�if�you�don’t�meet�the�requirements�of�your�firm�choice,�but�you�do�meet�the�conditions�of�your�insurance.�
You can’t choose between your firm and insurance course�when�you�get�your�results,�so�make�sure�you’re�happy�with�your�firm�and�insurance�choice�by�doing�as�much�research�into�the�course�and�institution�as�you�can.��
DeclineYou�will�then�need�to�decline�all�other�offers.�Or�if�you�decide�you�don’t�want�to�accept�any�of�the�offers,�you�can�decline�them�all�and�you�may�be�eligible�to�use�the�UCAS�Extra�service.��In�Extra,�you�can�apply�for�any�course�with�vacancies�and�hopefully�secure�an�offer�before�the�summer.

Free Leeds Trinity Shuttle BusThe�Leeds�Trinity�University�free�shuttle�bus�will�be�operating�between�Horsforth�Train�Station�and�our�campus�every�30�minutes�throughout�the�Applicant�Day,�from�Horsforth�Train�Station.�
By busThere�are�frequent�bus�services�between��Leeds�city�centre�and�Horsforth.�West�Yorkshire�bus�routes�97�and�731�travel�from�Leeds�Central�Bus�Station�and�both�stop�outside�Leeds�Trinity�University.�For�further�information�on�local�bus�services,�please�contact�Metro�on�0113 2457676�or�visit:�www.wymetro.com
How to find usLeeds Trinity University has great transport links – it’s easily accessible by road, there’s a railway station ten minutes’ walk from campus and plenty of buses from and to Leeds stop directly outside the main entrance.
