Definition: Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate's own marketing efforts.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Definition: Officially attached or connected to an organization or business
What is an Affiliate?
● Both affiliate and merchant can make money● You have an instant “offer” to give without the
time/money/energy to create your own● Small or No investment from the affiliate to get
started● No booking keeping or customer service needed as
the merchant is responsible● Be your own boss - Work your own schedule ● Work online
Advantages of Affiliate Marketing
● You make a small % of commision on each sale (10% - 50% earned on each sale)
● Merchant can “shut down” at any time● You do not get the lead - goes to the
merchant● Any future sale goes to the merchant
Disadvantages of Affiliate Marketing
Top Tier is a fancy name for “high price point” sales and programs that cost $1000 - $50,000 +
What is Top Tier Marketing?
● Higher price point means higher commision for you
● Earn $1000, $3000 & $5000 + commissions
● Less work for more money ● Would you rather sell 100 x $10 E-Book or 1 x $1000
Product?
● More serious with higher investment (treat your business like a business)
Advantages to Top Tier Marketing
● Usually has a higher ‘buy in’ price
● May be harder to find customers at a higher price point
● Investment in getting traffic to your “offer”
Disadvantages of Top Tier Marketing
● Do your research on each company● Figure out your strengths and weaknesses
(ie. Hate making phone calls, love advertising on Facebook, Want to create your own list, etc)
● Ask others you trust
