Senior Technician Ahmad Wahib was on his way for an appointment when he noticed that the stationary truck in front of him was on fire.

It was along the busy Central Expressway (CTE) but he felt he had to do something. He stopped his service van and jumped out, carrying his van’s portable fire extinguisher. After releasing his fire extinguisher, he realised that it was not enough and he took out a second one and that did the trick. Luckily for the driver of the lorry, Ahmad was on his way to deliver the fire extinguisher to a Client.

Managing Director Patrick Chong was delighted that his 2-year old initiative of installing a complimentary fire extinguisher next to the kitchen of a long-standing Client, has unexpectedly helped save the day.

At an award presentation ceremony, Ahmad’s response was a nonchalant “No effort lah, I was a Fire Fighter during my National Service Days.”

This was the message Technician Muhd Sholehin Zulkapli received. He dropped everything and dashed off to Bin Tong Park.

His Supervisor Fauzee Othman was also activated but Sholehin arrived first. Without waiting for Fauzee to arrive (the Aardwolf Standard Operating Procedure states that 2 persons must attend to a snake job) Sholehin took his stylish “shades” and the snake grabber from his service van and rushed into the house, in time to catch the deadly Black Spitting Cobra just as it was about to beat a retreat.

When asked why he didn’t don on his protective face visor, Sholehin’s reply was that in the emergency all he could reach out for were his shades.

His explanation was accepted. In an emergency you have to think fast and act confidently.

The girls in the office came with a song in their heart and a lovely cake, to wish John Ho a Happy 19th Birthday for Aardwolf Pestkare. The other co-founder Patrick Chong was away in Shanghai.

They left his room with a handbag each, made by the Miao Tribe in Hunan. John had bought them from Hunan, China as a surprise gift for the girls.

One surprise deserves another.

This is the season for foosball, the least exhaustive form of soccer, given the record temperature recently experienced in Singapore.

April 2016 was a good month for Compliments from our Clients.

As a token of appreciation, each recipient was given a chance to spin the wheel of $$$.

As it turned out, 4 out of 5 spun $200 each, while the 5th settled for $20.

Yes, it was time for the preparation of the 2016/2017 Budget. But before that, the team leaders held a workshop at the Jurong Country Club to put in their contribution.

The team has decided on another record new year to beat the 2015/2016 Profit Share of $1,550 per share. That is the plan, and now we’re going to make it happen!

This is the Class of April 2016 at the Singapore Polytechnic’s Advanced Food Hygiene Course.

Said Course Coordinator Martyn Wong, “This course is becoming popular, judging from the rising number of participants.”

President Director Agustinus Kurniawan officiated at the opening of a new office, housing the Jakarta West Branch. Looking at the smiles, the staff liked the new premises.

Training for Nestle’s Regional Center

Technical Manager Dr Jerry Hu was invited by our Client Nestle to conduct a session on Integrated Pest Management in Surabaya for their Nestle’s Quality Assurance Center. It was well received.

Managing Director Rosalind Yang and her team in Shanghai sat down to plan the

Budget for the new year 2016/2017. And to assist them was the team from Singapore.

Said the new accountant Ophelia Wu (1st lady on the left), “This is like planning how

many pests to eliminate.” That is how it works!

From Aardwolf Pestkare China

Since he was already there, Dr Hu also said “Hello” to our staff at the Surabaya Branch

This year’s team building weekend was held in Bintan, Indonesia.

Organised by Focus Adventure, they meant what their slogan says – “Where every moment is a challenge!”

Business Development Manager Pierce Chan was puzzled when he saw these subterranean termites during a survey at the Sentosa Boardwalk.

They were pressed in between 2 glass panels and were happily searching for their food, the cellulose found in timber structures.

The question he posed to Technical Manager Dr Jerry Hu was “Aren’t these subterranean termites supposed to be fighting shy of the sunlight?”

Dr Hu’s answer: “Contrary to common belief, they are actually sensitive to the dehydrating atmosphere. So if they find protection in-between these glass panels they will continue to forage for food. Remember termites are practically blind.”

Thanks, Doctor. You made it sound so easy.
