Welcome Back Everyone!
It was fantastic to see students and staff
back in the college today for the first day of
what is sure to be a terrific year! I have no
doubt at all that the year will be a very busy
one, but I am sure that it will also be a very
productive and memorable one too!
Our tremendous staff were so happy to see
the smiling faces of our students this morn-
ing and the new prep students were impres-
sive with their enthusiasm and confidence
once again.
The college is in a great position again this
year with an increase of around 25 in stu-
dent numbers from Prep to year 12. We now
have enrolment numbers of approx. 250 stu-
dents which is wonderful for our college. In
2021, we have one class at each year level
and two at year 8 due to numbers.
2021 Staffing Update
I am extremely happy with the staffing that
we have been able to secure for 2021 and
believe that we have further strengthened an
already impressive staff once again. We wel-
come Miss Bridie Kennedy into the year 1
classroom, Mrs Kathryn McDiven and Miss
Rhianna Smith into the senior school and
Miss Lisa Mitchell and Mr Justin Coghill onto
our education support staff. We will also
have the expertise of Mrs Dianne Kaplan
every Monday this year in the role of Mental
Health Practitioner.
We will endeavour to introduce new staff to
the school community through this newslet-
ter in the coming weeks.
Online Videos of 2020 End Of Year
Events
As mentioned in the last edition of 2020
newsletters, the college has uploaded a cou-
ple of the key end of year events that com-
munity members were unable to attend in
person.

mony can be found at:

*** Capital Building Works Update ***
The capital building works program is well
and truly underway at the college with a
huge amount of work taking place across the
school holidays. It was fantastic to see the
level of interest this morning when students
returned to the college for the first time since
our works started. The buildings that had
stood for years between the Administration
block and Junior School were gone!
Equally as impressive as the level of interest
was the way in which students moved on
and got back to the business of learning! Our
students certainly are resilient and the aca-
demic focus on display this morning was
most pleasing.
Steve’s article is continued on the next page.

What Works Have Actually Taken Place?
- Block B has been entirely demolished. This
consisted of a canteen, Food Tech Room,
Wellbeing Office, Staff Workroom, Library,
VCE Room, Cleaners Storage Space, Multi-
purpose Room and Senior School Office, as
well as a weights room and huge under-
ground water tank.
- A large amount of drainage underground
has been upgraded
- A full fire-services’ upgrade was recently
completed with the school now having
330,000 Litres of water at the entrance to
the college and a new hydrant system
throughout the college grounds.
- UV Water filtration has been upgraded on
drinking water taps, and
- A number of small fixes to pipes, drains
and the like have taken place across college
grounds.
Throughout the remainder of 2021, we will
see the area that has been demolished get
an entire facelift and full rebuild. This will no-
doubt cause small disruptions from time to
time, but we are confident that we be able to
manage this well and we look forward to
seeing a new building within the next 12
months.
Wearing of Masks at School
Staff, along with students who are 12 years
and older have been encouraged to wear
face masks whilst at school if they would like
to, particularly whilst in classrooms. The
college has a great number of disposable
masks in the office for staff and students
who require one.
Group Teacher Allocations
All students and staff are assigned to year
level home groups for the first 12 minutes of
the day Monday—Thursday, and the first 5
minutes of a Friday. Home group teachers
undertake our reading program with their
allotted students and also check on uniform,
notes and the like. They act as a point of
contact for students first thing each day and
are a familiar face and support for students.
Home Group Teacher Allocations for 2021
are as follows -

Thankyou to You All For 2020 Efforts!
I wish to once again express my thanks to
all of those in the college community that
helped our students to get through last
years times of uncertainty with remote and
flexible learning. The students have returned
to school today full of enthusiasm and ready
to learn, and this is a great credit to the fam-
ilies and support networks of each of our
students. We hope that 2021 is a settled
year of education for us all!
I hope that all of our college families were
able to have a lovely break and I look for-
ward to seeing you al throughout the course
of the year.
Take care and stay safe,
Steven Leed—College Principal

Welcome Back!
Welcome back to the Middle Years for
2021! I hope everyone had a lovely break
over the holidays and is ready to start the
new school year.
The school yard is looking slightly different
to when we left at the end of 2020. Build-
ings are missing and temporary fencing
surrounds the space. How great will this all
look when it is finished!
In 2021, we welcome 10 new students into
the Middle Years as well as the Grade 4’s
from 2020. We also welcome some new
staff in the Middle Years —Rhianna Smith,
Justin Coghill and Lisa Mitchell.
Next week our Year 7 cohort will be head-
ing off to Rubicon Outdoor Adventure
Camp at Nayook. They will spend the
week canoeing, caving, abseiling and
bushwalking. They will also be working on
team-work skills and challenging them-
selves.
I know I am looking forward to camp and
hope all Year 7’s are as well.
Welcome back and all the best for 2021
Wishing everyone has a great start to the
school year.
Congrats to our Year 12 students 2021
Hopefully you found time in the holidays to
read about our awesome VCE results in
2020 in The Age, Bendigo Advertister, the
Herald Sun or maybe the Community
News. Our Year 11 & 12 students studying
a VCE Units 3 & 4 subject last year did
exceptionally well. Collectively our stu-
dents achieved the highest study scores in
the state by comparison to other public
schools. Massive congratulations and well
done to all of our students on their hard
work, dedication and achievements.
