The telecom sector now, is witnessing huge demand for the trained and qualified engineers specialized in fiber optic communications.
To fill up this growing demand for qualified professionals in optical communication, BSNL, the pioneer telecommunication provider in India, is launching a certification program in Optical FiberCables and Systems.The course provides hands on training in design, optimization, setting up and maintenance of fiber optic networks. It describes in great detail fiber optic cables, connectorization, splicing, passive devices and systems. It examines the system engineering built into fiber optic receivers, transmitters, test equipments and troubleshooting. It also incorporates many of the current industry standards pertaining to optical fiber communication.

TRAINING METHODThe training programme is supported with Audio-Video aided classroom lectures and lab sessions. The instructor will lead you to focus on the key knowledge and skills to understand the optical fiber technology in an overall perspective. Discussions and hands on practice sessions in high tech optical fiber systems laboratories will build the confidence of the participants to apply the learned knowledge and techniques in the actual industry environment. In addition to this, the trainees are also exposed to the implementation aspects of fiber networks deployed by BSNL in Kerala.WHO CAN APPLY1. Candidates who have passed Graduation in engineering in the disciplines of ECE/EEE/EIE/CSE/IT or M.Sc (Physics/Electronics/Photonics/Computer Science) or MCA or Equivalent.2. This ISO 9001:2008 certified centre of excellence is equipped with state-of-the-art telecom technology laboratories, which include mobile communication systems of GSM 3G & CDMA, switching systems of OCB-Alcatel France & CDOT make, transmission systems in digital microwave, fiber optics, SDH, STM rings and data communication systems with Internet nodes, Wi-Fi equipments, IP MPLS VPN and Cisco routers. The faculty members are well-qualified technocrats and experienced professionals from among various telecom sectors. The 30 acres of lush green campus houses Library, Hostels and Recreational amenities.
HOSTEL FACILITY
Separate Hostel facility available for Ladies and Gents if required. A boarding charge of Rs. 130 and lodging charge of Rs. 80 per day per student will be collected for availing hostel facility. Library and recreational amenities are also available in the campus.
