INDIA basis for creating National Super Express Information Highway providing

a milestone to the Digital India Programme Launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister

of India.

The Ultra High Capacity Optical Transport Network is aimed to enhance existing

10G Capacity of Optical Fibre infrastructure of BSNL to 100G Capacity.

• In Sept. 2017 BSNL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VNL, an indigenous

telecom equipment and solution provider to provide solutions for Disaster Management.

• The “Relief 123” service is an integrated Disaster Response solution for first responders and

public safety agencies.\

• The Relief 123 Service will restore connectivity at disaster sites, help locate the affected and

integrate information across platforms to enable informed decision-making for quick relief.

• The solution is designed and manufactured by VNL and the backhaul connectivity will be

provided by BSNL. The service has been designed to work in different scenarios including

natural disasters such as earthquakes, storms, floods and tsunamis.41

The Defence’s NFS OFC project consists of• Laying of OFC aggregating to 57,100 KM PAN India• Total Cost of OFC laying – Rs. 9,000 Cr.• Equipment Cost – Rs. 13,000 Cr.• TOTAL – Rs. 22,000 Cr.

The project includes: Design, Procurement, Supply, Trenching, Laying, Installation, Testing andMaintenance of OFC and accessories for construction of NLD backbone and access routes onturnkey basis.
