Vietnam’s GDP has steadily increased, averaging 6.51 percent over the past decade. Foreign direct investment has also increased dramatically and reached an all time high in 2013. As the country rapidly develops and modernizes the demand for lighting has increased. Vietnam’s daily lighting usage now constitutes a high percentage of the overall electricity consumption, with the use of inefficient and outdated lights a cause. In order to alleviate this growing issue the Vietnam government is supporting a transition to more efficient lighting, including LEDs, making Vietnam the ideal emerging market. Demand is high and the industry is rapidly developing but still in the prime position for new investments and business opportunities.
