What is MNCC?
• MNCC, formerly known as Malaysian Computer Society – first established in 22-03-1968 at Universiti Malaya
• 45 years old on 22 March 2013 – celebration
– 1st regional center for Northern region formed in Universiti Sains Malaysia in 4 December 1986
• MCS changed to Malaysian National Computer Confederation (or MNCC) in 1988 – Reregistered under Companies Act as a company limited by guarantee
(guaranteed by the Malaysian government)
– To improve operational effectiveness & ablity to establish branches easily
• International linkages – South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC)
– International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) 9
What does MNCC Do?
•Conduct various events & programs to inculcate ICT professionalism

MNCC Membership
• Shall be a person who holds a recognized Information and Communications Technology (ICT)- related academic degree or professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who has been employed in the Information and Communications Technology Industry at an Executive Level as in the following:
– (a) Basic Degree: at least 3 years experience;
– (b) Master Degree: at least 2 years experience; and
– (c) Doctorate Degree: at least 1 year experience,
• or a person who do not hold a recognized academic degree or professional qualification as above but has been employed in the Information and Communications Technology Industry at an executive level for not less than seven years in activities considered by the Council to be relevant to the objects of MNCC. 11
Student Membership
• Shall be a person who is a full time student or a person undergoing a course of Instruction leading to a professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who is not over 25 years of age
