Tata Steel Projects - the foundations of project successOur engineers design strengthening works to existing structures, new footbridges, new roadbridges, new rail bridges, lift shafts, electrication structures, impact walls, station canopies,retaining walls, temporary works and new stations. We work with our clients from feasibilitystudies through construction site support and commissioning.
Structural Assessment
Our team have extensive experience inthe structural assessment of bridges,including undertaking bridge inspectionand coordinating investigative worksthat are needed.
Recent contracts include bridgeassessment works associated withDerby Station Area Remodelling. Thishas included assessment of a rangeof traditional rail bridges includingmasonry arches, joist in concrete decks,and steel troughing.
Highway Bridges
We have recently undertaken the detaileddesigns of 3 steel concrete compositebridges as part of the Peterboroughto Nuneaton Freight Upgrade. 2 of thebridge superstructures were slid intoplace during weekend possessions. Theteam were also heavily involved in thedetailed design of the temporary worksfor these activities.
Rail Bridges
At Tata Steel Projects, we are involved ina variety of rail bridges at all GRIP stagesand are most familiar with standardNetwork Rail forms of construction.Chestereld Canal Bridge was recentlydesigned and installed consisting ofheavily skewed GWR box girders.
