CALLING FEATURES 1. After completion of a call, hang up for at least three seconds before placing another

call. 2. Recall dial tone is four brief tones which signal you to continue with the next

procedural step. CALL TRANSFERS: This feature enables you to transfer any call directly to another station within the system. 1. Inform the party that you are going to transfer the call. 2. Depress switchhook or “FLASH” button once. 3. Listen for recall dial tone. 4. Dial extension desired. 5. When extension answers, announce the transfer. 6. Hang up and party will be automatically connected. CALL PICK UP: This feature enables you to answer any call directed to another telephone in your designated pick up group. 1. Listen for dial tone. 2. Depress the pound key marked (#). 3. Incoming call will be routed to your extension. If two or more telephones in your designated pick-up group are ringing, dispose of the first call and depress the pound key (#) to answer second call. The first call may be placed on “call hold” by depressing the switchhook or “Flash” button, listen for a dial tone and depressing the call hold button marked (*). CALL HOLD: This feature enables you to hold any call and, if necessary, dial a second call of any type. 1. Depress switchhook or “FLASH” button once. 2. Listen for recall dial tone. 3. Depress the call hold button marked (*). 4. Listen for recall dial tone. 5. Place receiver on desk or dial the desired extension or outside number within four

seconds. 6. To return to hold party, hang up the receiver and your telephone will ring. 7. Answer and original party will be reconnected. THREE WAY CONFERENCE CALLING: This feature permits you to add a third party to an existing call. 1. Explain to party that you are leaving the line. 2. Depress switchhook or “FLASH” button once. 3. Listen for recall dial tone. 4. Dial desired number.

5. Announce call when party answers. 6. State three-way connection. If the called party is busy or does not answer, depress the switchhook or “FLASH” button twice to be reconnected to the original party. CONSULTATION CALL: This feature permits you to hold an existing call, consult with another extension, and return to the original call. To hold and consult with another: 1. Inform party that you are leaving the line. 2. Depress switchhook or “FLASH” button once. 3. Listen for recall dial tone. 4. Dial extension desired. 5. When consultation is completed, third party hangs up. 6. You are automatically reconnected to the held party. If the consulted line is outside the Centrex system, depress the switchhook or “FLASH” button twice to return to original party and disconnect second call. DIALING INSTRUCTIONS: TO MAKE AN INTER-COUNTY CALL for a telephone with a “989" or “278" exchange to another telephone with the same exchange, dial the four digit extension only. County telephones with exchanges other than “989" or “278" must be reached by dialing the full seven digit number. TO MAKE A LOCAL CALL WITHIN THE TRENTON AREA dial access code 9 plus the seven-digit telephone number. TO MAKE A CALL TO NUMBERS OUTSIDE THE “609" AREA CODE dial access code 9 plus 1, then dial the correct area code and seven-digit telephone number.
