Status

• Educational Specifications• Elementary and Secondary Advisory Committees reviewed and updated

standards for future facilities. Finalized in February 2019, so recent issues and information such as the security report needs to be incorporated.

• Site Plans for Campuses• Site Committees for each campus worked with GPA and HED on long‐term

plans for improvements to each individual campus.

• Development of Projects• fs3H worked with GPA and HED on grouping improvements into logical

breakdowns of work to develop individual projects that could be separate or combined with others. Preliminary project lists are complete for both the $1.18 Billion master plan and the $460 Million preliminary bond project list. The high school project lists have been updated to reflect the site steering committee discusses this past Spring.

• Property Committee worked extensively on preparation on the Measure Z Bond.

• The Property Committee will be meeting once a month, generally on the 3rd Monday of the month to review Measure A & Z progress and provide input.

Community Oversight of Bond Program

• A Citizens Oversight Committee (COC) for a 55% approval bond is required by the Education Code.

• The COC for Measure A was established in 2008.

• The COC was authorized by the Board of Education to also oversee the Measure Z bond program in 2019.

• The COC meets quarterly and reviews the program and audit results.

• The COC makes an annual report to the community.

Gender Neutral Restrooms

Potential Solutions: Make the District technical spec floor to ceiling restroom partitions and no urinals.

A decision can then made by the District as to whether to make the new restrooms gender neutral or not.

Make a decision regarding a retrofitting of all current restrooms.

Elementary School Food Service

• The elementary serveries are being designed to accommodate cooking capabilities in the future.

• If desired, these serveries can become cooking facilities.

• The cost of logistics and operations of such a change will need to be determined and a decision made.

• Note this decision will impact the planned central kitchen project at JLS. If decided to have cooking facilities at elementary sites, the current plan to renovate the JLS kitchen is not needed.

Safety Measures and Consistency

• The District has received a comprehensive report from Emergency Preparedness Group, Inc.

• This report will be used as a source for capital investments by the Bond.
