BLiSS Decision of the Expert Committee for “Establishment of Biotech Labs in Senior Secondary Schools (BLiSS)” in North Eastern States of India. Under BLiSS programme a total 201 applications have been received from Senior Secondary Schools in North Eastern States of India and 88 schools are recommended for support. Criteria for selection of schools: 1) Student Strength (11 th and 12 th , Average of three years) : 15 and above 2) Pass Percent of the students (Average of three years) : 50 % 3) Faculty Strength in Science Subjects : Minimum 5 4) Number of post-graduate science teachers in the school : Minimum 5 5) Girl`s Higher Secondary School 6) Extra-mural Achievement or contribution of the School 7) Only Govt schools and provincialized schools, i.e., schools that come under govt. audit, will be considered eligible for this programme Budget provision criteria of the selected schools: The Committee recommended classification of selected schools based on their student strength for providing equitable rational support under the non-recurring head, as follows: 1) Schools with number of students upto 20: Rs. 5.00 Lakhs 2) Schools with number of students from 21-200: Rs. 10.00 Lakhs 3) Schools with number of students more than 200: Rs. 15.00 Lakhs Please see the decision below:
