Developed and executed a school-wide strategy for improving student literacy, which resulted in over 70% of students improving their reading by two grade levels in one year. This included (1) directing the Humanities department brainstorming and planning sessions once a week as the department liaison; (2) organizing and facilitating staff-wide literacy professional development sessions and otherwise teaming with colleagues and outside organizations to improve student comprehension; (3) serving as the school’s literacy mentor by observing and coaching each teacher; and (4) completing a case study to help guide students who are reading way below expected levels.
