How do you use media technologies in the Construction, Research and Planning and Evaluation stages?

Final Cut Express

Final Cut Express is a video editing software In which we edited the footage we captured when creating our music video. Features we used in the construction of our music video include importing audio tracks, the use of different layers to aid us in making sure the footage was in time with the music, alter the speed of the footage and much more. We used to edit in more layer but as our knowledge of the software has grown we have expanded to more. Final Cut Express was used in the planning of our music video was we edited our Preliminary Exercise on the software and that aided us on how to lip synch correctly.

Prezi Prezi is a presentation software and storytelling tool for exploring and sharing ideas

upon a virtual canvas. I used Prezi in my evaluation of how our music video uses, develops and challenges forms and conventions of real media products. Prezi was only introduced to our class after the research planning and construction work was completed.

Youtube

Youtube was used by our group in the research construction and evaluation stages of creating our music video. We first accessed the song we chose through Youtube and the official video. From this we were given inspiration on how to construct our video as well as taking parts from other music videos ellie from artists such as Two Door Cinema Club. Youtube furthermore enhanced the response rate and amount of audience response we received by uploading our video onto it and then sharing it on social networking sites such as Facebook or twitter. Overall Youtube was the key factor in the research phase and attaining audience feedback.

The research phase of the music video was to find an artist and the track and look inot the history of the artist. A couple of times in my own time I skimmed through the Website in search of our song however Charlie had already emailed The Midnight Beast and a week later received an email from the mother of the lead singer confirming we could used the song. Despite not finding an artist and track off of Unsigned it proved a valuable software in discovering new music.

SurveyMonkeySurveyMonkey was a big part in the

research and planning phases in the creation of music video. Firstly, we designed a survey to discover our target audience. Also, another survey was made to gain audience feedback from our music video, the aim of this was to find out on possible improvements we could have made and the pros/cons of the project.

HD Cannon Camera/Smartphone

The HD Camera is the main component in the construction stage of our music video. All of the footage was shot on the HD Cannon camera and the quality is significantly better than the standard Cannon camera we used to shoot our thriller. Furthermore, the HD Cannon Camera was a simple tool in capturing the film. Focus groups and the preliminary task were also shot on this Camera and then transported onto the IMac.

Locations and pictures of the band for the Digipak were taken on my Smartphone, this type of technology is particularly good for transporting images onto Blog posts.
