Superfast Broadband in the Blackdown Hills
Three projects are now aiming to get Superfast Broadband to BHPN parishes:
- Connecting Devon & Somerset Phase 2 project- BHPN’s application for ERDF funding- A commercial project announced by Gigaclear
Connecting Devon & Somerset Phase 2 programme
• Invitations To Tender (ITT’s) are due to be published in the next few weeks for NGA (>30Mbps) solutions
• Over £40M of public funding available if fully matched• Six lots or zones may be contracted to one or up to six
suppliers• Contracts expected to be signed with suppliers at the
end of 2016• Connections to customers expected to commence in
mid 2017

Blackdown Hills Parish NetworkEuropean Regional Development Fund Project
• BHPN made an outline application for £4.6M ERDF funding on May 27th
• East Devon District Council have agreed in principle to be BHPN’s Delivery Partner
• If successful a full application will be required by end October and funding confirmed end of 2016
• ITT would be published early 2017 with the successful supplier required to supply match funding and provide NGA (>30mbps) broadband
The BHPNERDF projectwill be centredon BlackdownHills parishes
