Vidhi Pushpa on the subject Family Law by Dr.V.S. Marulkar
Dr. V.S.Marulkar was invited as chief guest of the law lecture series
‘Vidhi-Pushpa’. “family system in India is diminishing day by day.
Instead of joint families people are trying to have nuclear families which
is dangerous for survival of healthy society, he said.”
Prof. P.B.Chavate welcomed Dr. Marulkar on behalf of college.

Vidhi Pushpa :Criminology
Bharati Vidyapeeth’s new law college,Sangli arranged a lecture on
Criminology on 14th August 2012.I/C Principal of Y.C.Law College,
Karad Prof. Pooja Narwadkar delivered lecture as, “Various socio-
economic problems are responsible to increase the rate of criminology.
Hate the sin and not the sinner should be the philosophy while treating
the criminals. With the pioneering efforts of Dr.Kiran Bedi, reformation
of prisoners was possible. Being a student of law student should accept
the reformative theory rather than deterent.”

Independence Day Celebration
Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal in the college .All
teachers and students were present for the program. The National flag was
hoisted by Chief Guest Dr. Subbaraman ,Director of IMRDA Sangli and
National anthem was sung by all. He guided the students on the occasion.
Principal, V.A.Patil , faculty members and students were present.
Breakfast and tea was arranged for all.

Freshers Party
The senior students organized a Fresher’s Party as per tradition of every
year. The programme started with the welcome of the Freshers. Various
funny games were organized for the fresher’s, which they enjoyed to the
fullest. Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher awards were given to the successful
freshers.

Yoga Shibir
Yoga Shibir was organized by the college in collaboration with Morarji
Desai National Institute of Yoga – Sangli center . Dr. Hemant Patil
addressed the students about the Yoga, Pranayam and how it is helpful
for human life. Prof. P.B.Chavate, Prof.S.G.Sable, Prof. V.S.Pawar,
Prof.Manisha kale,Prof.Archana Thorat were present for the function.
Students enjoyed the activity of Yoga.

Teachers Day Celebration
On the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. Radhakrishnan , teachers day
celebrated by the students. Students taught the students of other classes
and the function was arranged. Students felicitated teachers and
expressed their views about teachers.

Legal Aid Camp at Alsand Tal. Khanapur
The first camp for the academic year 2012-13 was organized at Alsand
Tal-Khanapur Dist.Sangli on 08/09/2012. Principal Mrs.V.A.Patil,
practicing lawyers, Sarpanch Kiran Kachare were present for the camp.
Members of grampanchayat as well as faculty members along with
students were also present. Approximately 200 villagers attended the
programme.
Prof. P.B. Chavate welcomed the chief guests and Mr. Lalasaheb
Jadhav felicitated chief guests and speakers.Principal V.A.Patil
expressed the objectives for organizing such legal activities for rural
area and delivered lecture on Women and Laws.Women’s rights are
secured under the Constitution of India mainly, equality, dignity, and
freedom from discrimination. The Constitution of India guarantees to all
Indian women equality (Article 14), no discrimination by the State
(Article 15(1)), equality of opportunity (Article 16), and equal pay for
equal work (Article 39(d)). In addition, it allows special provisions to be
made by the State in favor of women and children (Article 15(3)),
renounces practices derogatory to the dignity of women (Article 51(A)
(e)), and also allows for provisions to be made by the State for securing
just and humane conditions of work and for maternity relief. (Article
42).
Adv. Abhinandan Shete deliverd lecture on the Land Laws. “Land
law is the form of law that deals with the rights to use, alienate,
or exclude others from land. In many jurisdictions, these kinds
of property are referred to as real estate or real property, as distinct
from personal property. Land use agreements, including renting, are an
important intersection of property and contract law. Encumbrance on the
land rights of one, such as an easement, may constitute the land rights of
another.” He said. Villager Popat Jadhav raised question relating to
partition. Adv. Shete observed his documents and suggest the remedy
for it.
Adv. Suryakant Mirje discussed the topic Motor Accidental Claims and
laid down that,The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 is an Act of the Parliament
of India which regulates all aspects of road transport vehicles. The Act
provides in detail the legislative provisions regarding licensing
of drivers/conductors, registration of motor vehicles, control of motor
vehicles through permits, special provisions relating to state transport
undertakings, traffic regulation, insurance, liability, offences and
penalties, etc.
Prof. Sanjay Aher delivered lecture on the topic Consumer laws and
Prof.P.B. Chavate gave explanations regarding succession. Prof.
Sanjeevkumar Sable concluded pragramme by vote of thanks.

Panini Vichar Manch
Prof. Mohit Deshmukh from ILS law college, Pune delivered lecture on
the Presidential Powers under the Indian Constitution. He not only
explained the provisions under the constitution but also mentioned the
recent cases on these issues.

Environmental and Industrial Tour
Environmental tour was arranged by the college at Chouranginath,
Tal.kadegaon Dist.Sangli.The students visited the museum as well as the
temple and find out the ecological condition of the area.
On the same day students along with staff visited Kadegaon Spinning
mill and observed the process of manufacturing.

Camp at Vrudha Sevashram Sangli
On the occasion of Senior citizen Day, the legal aid and literacy
camp was organized by Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College, Sangli
at Vrudha Sevashram, Sangli. Mr.Dayanand Kamble, welcomed
speakers of the function.
Hon’ble K.S.Navandhar Civil Judge Jr. division started function by
lighting traditional lamp. Mrs. V.A.Patil expressed her views on the the
Maintenance and welfare of Parents and senior citizens Act,2007. Prof.
Sanjeevkumar Sable threw light on the various issues regarding
maintenance. He explained sec.125 on Code of Criminal Procedure and
how it is applicable to aged persons. Aged persons asked their queries
about the maintenance. A lecture has been delivered by Adv.Amol
Dombe on the topic Rights and duties of aged persons.
Hon’ble K.S.Navandhar Civil Judge Jr. division, in her presidential
speech, explained the problems of senior citizens and the solutions for
it.
Prof. Sharad Patil Ex.MLA was present for the function. Adv.
S.M.Pakhali delivered vote of thanks. Adv. Shobha Chavan-Patil was
anchored the programme.

Legal Aid Camp at Sadguru Senior Citizen Sangh , Sangli
On the occasion of Senior Citizen Day, a legal literacy programme
was held at Sadguru Senior Citizen Sangh , Sangli . President Shri
Mohan Lele welcomed and informed the activities of theSadguru Senior
Citizen Sangh . Secretary Kashinath Khare felicitated guests of the
function prof. P.B.Chavate and Prof. Sanjeevkumar Sable.
Prof. P.B.Chavate delivered lecture on the Maintenance and
welfare of Parents and senior citizens Act,2007. Prof. Sanjeevkumar
Sable informed listeners about the legal aid and advise cell of law
college and Shripatraotatya Kadam senior citizen cell to tackle various
problems of aged persons. Programme was concluded by vote of
thanks. Secretary Shri.Kashinath Khare delivered vote of thanks.

Vidhi-Pushpa : Family Law
Adv.C.D.Mane was invited by the college to enlighten students on the
recent amendments under personal laws and its implementation. He
explained that, “Family Law if described in one line is a branch of law
that deals in 'making or breaking of any family.' In other words, all the
legal disputes arising in any Indian family are governed under the
Family Law prevalent in India.This is one law that embraces all the age
groups e.g. minors for Adoption and Child Custody,majors for Marriage,
Divorce, Alimony/Maintenance , so on. Family Law also defines
Succession in terms of Will and Inheritance. The basic need of family
law is to deal with the disputes in such a manner that the rights to
perform certain actions under this law are enjoyed by the persons with
little or no stress.”
He also focused on the procedural aspect regarding the family matters
in cases of maintenance. Mrs. V.A. Patil introduced and felicitated him
on behalf of college.

Internal Moot Court-1
Internal moot court-1 for academic year 2012-13 was arranged on
11th October 2012. Prof. Sanjeevkumar Sable and Prof Sanjay Aher were
the panel members. Students argued on Civil and Criminal cases.

Moot Court Activity in Marathi was organized by the college for law
students of law college within the vicinity of Shivaji University.
Principal V.A.Patil welcomed the chief guest. Adhoc Disrict Judge
Hon’ble G.S.Shegavkar inaugurated the function.

Mahalok-Adalat
Mahalok-Adalat was organized by District Legal Services Authority on
17/10/2012. Students attended the panel proceeding and made
conversant with the mediation procedure. Prof.P.B.Chavate guided the
students for this activity.

Yerawada Jail Visit
On Monday, 15th October 2012 the college in association with Bv’s Yashwatrao Chavan
Law College, Karad had organized visit to the Yerwada Central Prison, Pune.
About 20-25 students along with two faculty members, Prof. V.S.Pawar and
Prof.V.K.Patil accompanied the students to jail visit. On the initial correspondence regarding
permission was done in advance. The objective behind jail visit was to acquaint the students with
the present prison system and the various reformative measures carried out therein.
The faculty members after proper verification and security check gain entry into the
prison. After a brief introduction with the prison suprentendent Mr.Awale, the students were also
let in .
The students saw the cell where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned. The mango tree where
the Poona pact was sighned between the Mahatma Gandhi and Dr.Ambedkar was also seen.
Various sections like high security prison, anda-cell, kitchen, workshops of fabrication,
carpentry, art-work, weaving section etc were visited by the students.
The special womens prison was also visited by the girl students.various activities like
candal making,weaving etc were also seen. The prisoners who showed remarkable reformation
were entrusted various jobs like house keeping, security guard etc. the products manufactured by
the prisoners were of high quality and are supplied to various Government Departments.they are
also provided with the facilities like T.V.,Library, games etc.
The students also visited the video conferencing facilities started to facilitates the court
appearance via the internet.
In all the visit was helpful for the students to know the functioning of the Central prison
in Yerawada, Pune.

Vidhi-Pushpa on the subject Trust Law and Family Law
On 21st October 2012, college organized vidhi pushpa lecture
series for the students. Prof. M.C.Shaikh, faculty of Shahaji Law
College, Kolhapur delivered lecture on trust law for last year students .
Prof. Amit More faculty of P.D.P law college Phltan enlightened

One Day Workshop on internship for Law students Lead College
Activity
Under the Lead College activity, one day workshop was organized
by the college on the internship. Hon’ble Dr.Mukund
Sarda,Adv.C.D.Man,Adv.R.D.Anbhule guide the students on the topic
internship.
While delivering lecture Dr.Sarda specifically mentioned that five
year students should complete 20 weeks internship programe and 12
weeks for three year students. As per BCI rules internship should
fulfilled during the vacation only.
In the second session, Dr.Savita Pawar, Principal of Ismailsaheb Mulla
Law college, Satara, Dr.Narayana, Principal Shahaje Law
College,Kolhapur,,Dr.Mangala Patil Principal, New Law
College,Kolhapur, Dr.Pooja Narwadkar,Principal, Y.C.Law
College,Karad enlightened students about the internship program and
share their experiences .

Camp at Soni Tal-Tasgaon Dist. Sangli Date
Legal Literacy and legal aid camp was held on 24/11/2012 at
Krantisinha Dattajirao Patil Madhyamic Vidyalaya, Soni Tal.Tasgaon
Dist.Sangli.Staff of the school, students, Grampanchayat members and
villagers were present for the function. Principal of the school
welcomed and felicitated chief guests of the function.
Principal Mrs. V.A.Patil delivered lecture on, Protection of
Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005
Prof. V.K.Patil threw light on the topic Prevention of Sexual
Harassment at Work places. Sarpanch Mrs. Patil delivered vote of

Camps at Taluka Bar Vita,Kadegaon, Shirala, Tasgaon, Kavthe
Mahankal Dist. Sangli
On the occasion of Law Day Celebration the camps were arranged
at various taluka advocates bar associations. Digital boards of the
fundamental rights and duties were displayed by the Bharati
Vidyapeeth’s New Law College Sangli in the premises of Taluka courts,
Sangli District Court and Collector office.
At Sangli on 26th November 2012 Adv. Amol Dombe and Prof.
Sanjeevkumar Sable displayed boards of Preamble and fundamental
rights and duties in the premises of District court and Collector office
and delivered lectures on the topics, Pramble and fundamental rights and
duties respectively.
On 27th November 2012 staff of Bharati Vidyapeeth Sangli along
with Adv. Amol Dombe visited Taluka Advocate Bar Association, Vita
and Kadegaon. Prof.Sanjeevkumar Sable delivered lecture on
fundamental rights and duties.Adv.Amol Dombe threw light on the
professional ethics. Prof. Sanjay Aher specifically mentioned the
provisions relating Bar Bench relationship.Prof. A.D.Kamble discussed
case of contempt of court with the lawyers. President of Taluka
Advocate Bar Association concluded programme with vote of thanks.
On 28 and 29th November 2012, the banners were displayed by the
New Law College, Sangli atAdvocates Bar Association of Islampur and
Kavathe-Mahankal. Principal V.A.Patil, Prof. Sanjeevkumar
Sable,Adv.Amol Dombe,Prof. Sanjay Aher were present for the
function. Lectures were delivered on the preamble, fundamental rights
and duties by the professors of Bharati Law College, Sangli.

Legal aid Programme was organized for the villagers of
Mardwadi Tal.Walwa Dist .Sangli on 8th December 2012. It was
organised by Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College,Sangli with
collaboration of District Legal Services Authority Sangli and under the
directions of National Legal Services Authorities Act.Sarpanch of
village welcomed the speakers of the legal aid camp. Adv.Amol Dombe
delivered lecture on 7/12 extract.
Prof. Sanjeevkumar Sable expressed his views on the topic,

Human Rights day Celebration
Human Rights day was celebrated by the college at Madhavnagar.
Adv.Amol Dombe and Prof. Vrushali Patil delivered lecture on Human
Rights Prof. V.K.Patil elaborated the concept of Human Rights as,
“Human rights are moral principles or norms, which describe certain
standards of human behavior, and are regularly protected as legal
rights in municipal and international law. They are commonly
understood as inalienable fundamental rights "to which a person is
inherently entitled simply because she or he is a human being," and
which are "inherent in all human beings" regardless of their nation,
location, language, religion, ethnic origin or any other status. They are
applicable everywhere and at every time in the sense of being universal,
and they are egalitarian in the sense of being the same for everyone.”

Sangli
On 24th December 2012 ,a legal aid camp was organized for
students of S.N.D.T.Mahila Mahavidyalaya sangli. Hon,ble Arun Shaha,
Hon,ble Prashant Majalekar and Principal V.A.Patil were present for the
function.
Principal Dhole sir welcomed dignitaries of the function. Prof.Mrs.
Gaikwad felicitated the guests. Principal of B.V.Law college
Mrs.V.A.Patil delivered lecture on the topic, Rights and duties of
women.
Prof.Mrs. M.Y.Kale delivered lecture on the topic Stri Dhan, Prof.
Archana Chavan-Thorat expressed her views relating to Right to
Education. She stated that, The RTE Act provides for the: Right of
children to free and compulsory education till completion of elementary
education in a neighbor-hood school. It clarifies that ‘compulsory
education’ means obligation of the appropriate government to provide
free elementary education and ensure compulsory admission, attendance
and completion of elementary education to every child in the six to
fourteen age group.”

Legal literacy program was organized on 31st December 2012 at
Krantisinh Nana Patil Mahavidyalaya Walwa. Principal Shashikant
Shinde welcomed and felicitated chief guests of the function
Prof.Mrs.V.A.Patil, Adv. Amol Dombe and Prof. S.G.Sable .
Mrs. V.A.Patil delivered lecture on Women and law under Indian
Constitution. Adv.Amol Dombe explained provisions relating to 7/12
extract and its importance in our life.It includes the information relating
to Village, Taluka, District, Name of Owner(s) and their shares, Type of
land, Area, crops & cultivation details, tenancy details, loans &
liabilities and any other rights.
Prof. Sanjeevkumar Sable expressed his views on the topic Right

Dist.-Sangli.
Legal Aid and literacy camp was organized at B.V’s medical
college, Sangli. Head of the medical college, Dr. R.V. Kulkarni
welcomed and felicitated guests Principal Mrs.V.A. Patil, Dr. Vinod
Pawar, Prof. V.K.Patil.
While delivering lecture on medicine & law Prof. Vinod Pawar
stated that, “Medical law is the branch of law which concerns
the prerogatives and responsibilities of medical professionals and
the rights of the patient. It should not be confused withmedical
jurisprudence, which is a branch of medicine, rather than a branch
of law.The main branches of medical law are the law
on confidentiality, negligence and torts in relation to medical treatment
(most notably medical malpractice), and criminal law andcontract law in
the field of medical practice and treatment. Ethics and medical practice
is a growing field.”
Principal V.A.Patil expressed views regarding labor laws Prof.
V.K.Patil elaborated concept of Human rights before the staff of medical
college.

Celebration of Birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule
On 3rd Jan. 2013 Savitribai Phule Birth anniversary was celebrated in the
college Principal of our college V.A.Patil Paid Floral Tributes to the
Portrait of Savitribai Phule .On this occasion a special issue of “Vidhi
Manas “wall paper Magazine was prepared by the students dedicated to
Savitribai Phule .It was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Mrs.
Bharati Ganpati Waze ,who works as a daily wage worker in the college
premises .The program was well attended by students and staff members

Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College, Sangli organized legal
aid and literacy programme for villagers of Yelavi Tal.Palus Dist. Sangli
on 7th January 2013.
Adv.Amol Dombe, Principal V.A.Patil, along with Prof.
Sanjeevkumar Sabale , Prof. S.J.Aher were present for this camp.
Sarpanch of the village Yelavi welcomed guests of the function and
expressed his gratefulness for organizing such camp.
Adv. Amol Dombe . delivered lecture on the Land Laws. Principal
V.A.Patl expressed her views on the topic, The Protection of Women
from Domestic Violence Act 2005.She specifically mentioned that, “ the
victims of domestic violence are overwhelmingly women, and women
tend to experience more severe forms of violence. In some countries,
domestic violence is often seen as justified, particularly in cases of
actual or suspected infidelity on the part of the woman, and is legally
permitted. Research has also shown there to be a direct and
significant correlation between a country's level of gender equality, and
actual rates of domestic violence. DV is among the most underreported
crimes worldwide for both men and women. Men face additional gender
related barriers in reporting, due to social stigmas regarding male
victimization, and an increased likelihood of being overlooked by
healthcare providers.”
Prof. S.G.Sable also laid down the provisions relating to Right to

An essay competition was arranged by the IMRDA in collaboration with
New law college sangli. Faculties of both colleges participated in the
competition.Prof. V.S.Pawar won first prize, Prof. Manisha Salunkhe
and Prof. P.B.Chavate won second and third prize respectively.

Our college in collaboration with IMRDA arranged faculty development
program on stress management. CA Prasanna Kulkarni guide faculty
members about stress release formulas. He not only explained the
problems of stress but also focused on how to tackle this problem.

collaboration with IMRDA sangli. Environmentalist Hon’ble Rajendra
Joshi delivered lecture on Environment-past, present and future. He

Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College, Sangli organized
legal aid and literacy programme on 22/02/2013,for the students of
Arts,Commerce and Science College Palus, Tal-Palus Dist-Sangli.
Principal Dr. B.N. Pawar welcomed and felicitated the guests of the
function Principal V.A.Patil and Dr. Rupa Shah, Dr. P.B.Chavate and
Prof. M.Y.Kale.
Principal V.A Patil delivered lecture on Women Empowerment.Dr.
Rupa Shaha communicated students the real situation of women in the
society and nicely spoke on the topic ,Women and Law and its
implementation in society. She told not only the provisions of law but
also the real stories she gone through by her NGO. Students appreciated
her efforts to resolve problems of women with help of NGO.
Prof. P.B.Chavate , Prof. M.Y.Kale delivered lecture on welfare of
Parents and senior citizens Act,2007 and Labour Law respectively. Prof.
N.S.Salunkhe delivered vote of thanks.

Legal Aid and literacy programme at Rotary Club, Sangli Tal.
Miraj Dist.-Sangli.
The last camp of this academic year 2012-13 was organized at
Rotary Club, Sangli Tal.Miraj Dist.Sangli on 24/02/2013. The president
of Rotary Club felicitated and welcomed chief guests Principal of
B.V.New Law College, Sangli, Mrs.V.A.Patil and Prof. Atul Inamdar.
Mrs. V.A.Patil informed members of about the Maintenance and
Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act,2007. She explained the
basic objectives of the Act and laid down that, “This Act provides in-
expensive and speedy procedure to claim monthly maintenance for
parents and senior citizens. This Act casts obligations on children to
maintain their parents/grandparents and also the relative of the senior
citizen to maintain such senior citizens. The main attraction of this Act is
there are provisions to protect the life and property of such persons.”
The Rotary members raised various questions to speaker. Secretary
of the club delivered vote of thanks.

Lead College Activity on ADR and Plea bargaining
College organized one day seminar on ADR and concept of Plea
bargaining under lead college activity. Adv. Sambhaji Mohite
enlightened students on the concept of ADR i.e. Alternative Dispute
Resolution which is beneficial to settle dispute between parties. He
informed students about his own mediation center and appealed students
to be mediator to resolve dispute without entering into courts.
Adv. C.D.Mane explained students about the new concept plea
bargaining and its implementation in Indian system. Principal V. A.Patil
welcomed and felicitated guests and Prof.P.B.Chavate delivered vote of
thanks.

Vidhi-Pushpa on Juvenile Delinquency
Under the vidhi-pushpa law lecture series, a lecture was organized for
the students on the topic Juvenile Deliquency. Adv.Kiran Navale
enlightened students on the topic. He answered various questions of
students and explained the procedural aspects relating to the treatment
towards delinquent.

Yashwantrao Chavan Birth Centenary
The college celebrated the birth centenary of Yashwantrao Chavan
on 12th March 2013. Principal of our college V.A.Patil Paid Floral
Tributes to the Portrait of Yashwantrao Chavan. The program was well
attended by students and staff members.
