Mobile ticketing challenges, seen from the outside

• Legacy electronic ticketing solutions are not easily migrated to mobile• Often based on proprietary and licensed technologies like MIFARE and

CALYPSO• Mobile requires open and standardized solutions

• Provisioning and management of mobile, smart card based solutions requires heavy investments in infrastructure (TSM etc.)

• Legacy electronic ticketing solutions deployed for mobile doesn’t really solve the problem for sporadic travelers and tourists

• “New” solutions like mobile ticketing apps is currently fragmented• Not well suited for travelling across multiple PTA domains• Not well suited for tourists
