Community Film-MakingThe 2012 annual Borneo Eco Film Festival (BEFF) is a not-for-profit free event held in Kota Kinabalu from28 - 30 September 2012. The BEFF celebrates Sabah's biocultural diversity through showcasing environmentalfilms and nurturing local community filmmaking.

BEFF is divided into two parts:

a. SUARA ~ Community Filmmakingb. Film Screenings

A series of thought-provoking environmental films from Sabah and around the globe willbe screened at BEFF with a priority on Asian / Malaysian premieres.

Our film programming team will strive to invite films that Sabahans can relate to and alsoprovide new insight into the world of environmental cinema.

Sabah Stories will be a new film screening programme for only Sabahan films!

Borneo Eco Film Festival is an event organized in partnership withThe Sabah Society under the protem committee consisting of;

SUARA means VOICE. Giving a voice to Sabahan communities to use film totell their own stories in their own words and images. This year-long projectfunds a small Sabahan community to make a series of films which will bescreened at the next festival. We do this by providing workshops and talksduring the festival, as well as follow-up training sessions after the festival attheir respective communities.
