  • B80 MOTHERSHIP80 CHANNEL CONFIGURABLE AD/DA INTERFACE

live, 6 BAD8 cards will give you 48 audiophile quality inputs, and 4 BDA8 cards gives you 32-channels of outputs. Rocking!

Digital interconnect is also completely configurable, and controlled by a swappable Motherboard. BURL Audio offers six digital Motherboards, the BMB1 DigiLink, BMB2 MADI, BMB3 Dante, BMB4 SoundGrid, BMB5 USB 2.0 and BMB6 AES/EBU. The BMB5 and BMB6 were designed exclusively for the B16 MOTHERSHIP.

No more cascading units with multiple word clocks. All channels can run off of one internal master clock. Good bye word clock generator! Of course, if you do need more channels, multiple B80 units run flawlessly with tight clocking. With each BCLK card, add 9 additional word clock outputs per slot. 92 total word clock outputs are possible per MOTHERSHIP.

The technology that makes this all possible is the BURL BackBone. The BURL BackBone is a high bandwidth backplane delivering incredible digital audio throughput. Master clock travels directly to each converter eliminating the need for individual PLLs.

The B80 MOTHERSHIP is the result of over 25 years of tireless research and development. The no compromise design strategy is immediately apparent in the build quality.

Configuring a B80 is literally a snap. Slide the card down its card guide, snap it into the BURL BackBone, turn the hand screws, and you’re there.

Simply put, the B80 MOTHERSHIP has redefined digital recording, and we can proudly claim that the B80 MOTHERSHIP is now the new standard for studio recording. For anyone who has felt that digital recording has been lacking clarity, soul, warmth and musicality, the MOTHERSHIP is the answer. Building on the technology of the 2-channel B2 BOMBERS, the MOTHERSHIP was forged from BURL Audio’s deep dedication to analog class-A circuitry.

The result is not only heard, it is felt. The MOTHER-SHIP stands apart from every other interface on the market in terms of fidelity, with superior depth and width of field. Countless modern, Grammy winning albums have now either been tracked, mixed or mastered on a B80 MOTHERSHIP.

The B80 MOTHERSHIP has up to 80 analog channel capability. Using a card based system, and a heavy duty 4U chassis, the B80 MOTHERSHIP employs 10 card slots with 4 and 8-channel AD/DA cards, all with the B2 quality signal path.

Every ADC channel uses a proprietary BX1 or BX6 transformer and every DAC channel has the latest BURL Audio discrete op-amps, BOPA11 or BOPA14. For many who have already embraced the B2 BOMBER, this is a dream come true. Recording an entire band and playing back through 24-channels of BURL AD/DA at a time is a truly beautiful experience. With a completely configurable AD/DA, an interface for any situation can be realized. If you just mix, load up the B80 with 8 BDA8 cards for 64-channels of mind blowing fidelity. If you track

Many times called “The new era of digital record-ing”, the B2 BOMBER ADC and DAC from BURL Audio are designed to give you the ultimate in sonic recording and monitoring performance.

THE B2 BOMBER ADC is designed for great speci-fications, but more importantly, it is designed to give you the ultimate in recording tone. For years now people have been trying to figure out why their digital recordings don’t have the warmth and feel of ana-log tape recordings. We try using tube mic pres and great compressors, but there is still something miss-ing. There is still that blurriness, that graininess and lack of depth that comes with digital recordings. BURL Audio has solved this problem by designing an analog audio path that is complimentary to your mic pre and to the analog to digital process. By using a revolutionary hybrid circuit with a proprietary trans-former, the BURL Audio BX1, and a discrete class-A, zero feedback, zero capacitor signal path, we have achieved dynamic and tonal balance.

The B2 BOMBER ADC features a custom input trans-former, the BX1. This highly linear, high input-level transformer makes the circuit path more simple and more musically true than a typical IC op-amp based circuit path. The result is a very natural sound with a slight tape-like saturation.

THE B2 BOMBER DAC features custom class-A discrete output amplifiers, BOPA10s, ideal for moni-toring. Couple these with state of the art conversion technology and the B2 BOMBER DAC delivers sonic purity and dynamics thus far unheard of.

  • B1/B1D MIC PRES500 SERIES MIC PRE AMPSBased on the API 500-series form factor, the B1 & B1D Microphone Pre-Amps from BURL Audio are designed to compliment the B80 MOTHERSHIP and give you multi-channel pleasure. With the custom, over-sized BX3 input transformer and all nickel core BX2 output transformer, the B1 delivers warmth, depth and clarity.

The B1D is the same as the B1 except that it features an all-steel BX4 output transformer giving it a more terrifying rock tone. An all discrete transistor, class-A, direct coupled, capacitor free circuit path gives the B1 & B1D amazing punch on drums, beautiful tonality on guitars, and warmth with presence on vocals.

The B1 & B1D come with both Gain and Level controls. If you want a heavy, “gainy” tone, crank up the stepped gain control and offset that with the level control. If clean tone is your thing, lower the gain and crank up the level. For ribbon mics and other low impedance sources, the B1 & B1D have a transformer-coupled impedance select. The B1D was rigorously tested with the popular Royer R-121 in the low impedance setting, and we think it sounds amazing on guitar amps. The B1 gets the best out of any microphone, whether it be dynamic, condenser or ribbon.

Plug in to the 1/4” instrument/line input on the front panel, crank up the gain and go. The PAD switch allows hot signals or balanced line inputs through the mic XLR on the back panel. Run your tracks or mixes through the B1 for warmth and glue.

Replace EQ and compression with true analog PHAT.

Combine B1 mic pres, a B80 MOTHERSHIP, a B32 VANCOUVER, and a B26 ORCA for the COMPLETE SOLUTION.

    B1 & B1D Features:• Custom BURL BX3 input transformer• Custom BURL BX2 (B1) or BX4 (B1D) output transformer• All class-A, discrete signal path • Stepped gain control • Independent output level control• 70 dB gain• Impedance select• 1/4” front panel DI input• 30 dB pad for hot signals• Phantom power• Phase reverse• Tri-colored gain level LED• Love and Thunder!

  • CONTROL ROOM MONITORB26 ORCAThe ORCA is the most highly evolved of all aquatic species. One who uses sonic superiority and harmony to dominate his environment, the ORCA is the APEX PREDATOR of all of the oceans of the Earth.

Thriving off of the Island of VANCOUVER, pods of ORCAS silently stalk their prey, present just under the surface; listening, threatening. The ORCA’s superior sonic 3D imaging gives them an unfair competitive advantage over whatever they may view as prey. Surfers fear great white sharks. Great white sharks fear ORCAS.

Building on its reputation of sonic superiority, the B26 ORCA Control Room Monitor utilizes the same analog, discrete circuit path philosophy as other BURL Audio products with an emphasis on the ultimate in sonic transparency and 3D stereo imaging.

Evolve your listening, mixing and mastering through the B26 ORCA and give you and your ears an unfair competitive advantage.
