The homeowner’s vision was to build a classic style beachfront home with panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding area. Architect Brian Deanhardt of Brimco Builders worked closely with the owners to design a plan that included plenty of windows to create spacious, light-filled rooms with stunning views. Naturally, choosing the right windows and doors was a top priority. They had to be extremely energy efficient and stand up to predominant winds, sand, salt and hurricanes over a long period of time. According to the homeowners, this was the home where they would retire.

The location of the home required IMPACT glass. “I chose Integrity® Wood-Ultrex® IMPACT (IZ3) windows and doors because the fiberglass cladding would be the best option to stand up to the harsh salt environment over the years,” said Deanhardt. According to Deanhardt, “Of all the custom homes I’ve built in my 27-year career, this was by far the most enjoyable home I’ve ever built.”
