Business Forum are a designed meeting to help the companies with

business development:

❖ Get feedback to it’s business idea or model, activity plans etc.

❖ Test the presentations to Investors, Customers etc.

❖ Discuss and get perspectives to problems

Preparation:

▪ Prepare a presentation based on the specific purpose and

goals that you have discussed with your coach.

▪ Adapt the presentation to the panel e.g. basic information of

the company, business idea, specific questions etc.

E.g. Use the NABC together with the Business Model Canvas or similar tools

Business Forum ProcessLocation: Online by ZoomDate:

The meeting:

▪ The meeting takes 1 hour approximately.

▪ The company makes a presentation of max 20 minutes.

▪ The presentation will be followed by questions and comments from a

panel. The panel can also act in different roles as e.g. Investor,

Customer, Users etc to be able to give you the right perspective to

meet your purpose of the presentation

▪ The panel will consist of at least three persons with relevant

competence to be able to assess the company.

▪ The company will hold its presentation without interruption (except

question for understanding) and will be followed up with the same for

the panel and to end up with an open discussion.

Panel members -

Tim Kovac

Senior Business Coach and management

consultant in the life sciences. He has held

positions in international corporate venture

capital, corporate business development, product

development and startup companies.

Professional background: Currently acting also as

CEO at Medzinita Innovation AB, has served as VP

for Medtentia AB Lund 1994-2010, several roles

in Business Development and VP for Compass

Group 1994-2004. He holds a degree from

California State University, SAN JOSE, School of

Engineering, 1987.

Lina Boreson

Lina is COO at SmiLe Incubator and responsible for

Industry network and partnering. Lina has extensive

experience from commercial operations within the

pharma industry where she has held several leading

positions within communication, sales and marketing.

She also has experience from being member of

management team and serving as board director.

Professional background: Commercial Director/Head

of Sales & Marketing (DK), Brand Director and

Communication Manager (Nordic), Biogen, 2003-2016.

AB, 2000-2003, Communication Manager

International, Perstorp Surface Materials, 1998-2000.

Lina holds a B.Sc., Social Science from Lund University.

Panel members -

Per Brunmark

Business coach working with startup companies within the

life science field. To transform a novel scientific finding to a

sustainable business will offer several challenges. Excel in

guiding entrepreneurs in that process with 7 years of

experience from SmiLe incubator and an edge in pharma

industrial R&D. Second title at SmiLe is as Director of Core

facility laboratories, providing startups with the tools they

need develop their ideas by training operators,

troubleshooting with scientists and to keep the laboratories

fit today and in the future.

Professional background: Smile Incubator (2012-present),

Scientist at AstraZeneca (2010-2011), Head of DMPK at

Acadia Pharmaceuticals (2002-2010), Scientist and Team

Leader at AstraZeneca (1996-2002), Visiting Scientist at

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1994-1996), Ph.D. in

Chemistry at Lund University 1994.

Thomas Unt

Thomas is a Business Coach at SmiLe incubator and

responsible for Investor Relations and Network. Thomas

has more than 10 years of experience from the financial

industry, mainly from business development, compliance

and regulations. In addition, Thomas has worked 11 years

with numerus FinTech and Life Science start-ups in the field

of corporate governance, venture capital, IPO and business

development. Thomas has since 2017, worked in a

European context with E-health start-ups within EIT as a

coach. He has also been active as Chairman and board

member in start-ups since 1997.

Kristian Enkvist

Senior advisor for the SmiLe incubator.

Professional background: 20+ years of industrial

experience in product development, business

development and product portfolio management in

the Medical Device, Diagnostics and Life science

industries (HemoCue, Gambro, PerkinElmer, Wallac).

Prior to that he has worked in large pharma early

drug discovery (AstraZeneca) and holds a PhD in

biochemistry. Currently in his second round as CEO

of a startup company, this time in the area of e-

health.

Isak Simonsson

Isak is Project Manager at SmiLe Incubator and responsible

for planning the incubator program. Isak has a deep insight

to student innovations at Lund University, and have

supported teams from the very early idea phase to growing

companies. He is also used to collaborating with most of

the support system within the region of Skåne.

Professional background: Incubator Manager and Project

Manager (VentureLab/LU Innovation) 2017-2019. Isak holds

a bachelor’s in development, Social Sciences from Lund

University.

Kristina Hallström focuses on the

development of new medtech

products. Bringing expertise from

both marketing and clinical

research and tests. She’s also

experienced with regulations and

quality control according to the

MDD, MDR and FDA standards.

Cecilia Larsson is an engineer who has

been devoted to the development of

medical devices (electronics, mechanics

and software) for more than fifteen

years, both in hospital environment and

in the MedTech industry. Her areas of

expertise are design control and

compliance to international standards

and regulations. She help companies

find and create the right level of

documentation and contents for CE

marking and FDA approval that also

adds value to the business.
