ABOUT THE PROJECTIndian Institute of Technology Mandi is a 535 acre engineering and technology higher education institute. The total gross floor area of Phase 1 is 125,000 sqm for 1,500 students, 150 faculty, about 300 technical and admin staff. This includes classrooms, labs, hostels, residences, admin, etc. TThe design responds to a sensitive Himalayan site to create a sustainable community designed as a series of self contained hamlets .Due to the sensitive nature of the site ecological site planning and a traditional indigenous compact building typology was adopted. Transit was minimized and campus is mostly pedestrianized. I Contributed to the winning competition entry, masterplan, architectural concept and design development of key buildingstill pre tender stage. During tender I was involved with the specifications which were to ensure a GRIHA 3 starrating . Led the sustainability aspect within BDP at the building and masterplan level .

ABOUT THE PROJECTA low energy office complex designed as a series of terraces and internal courtyards. The solid exterior contrasts with a fully glazed interior which filters in daylight while restricting thermal gain. The two office typologies sit separately on top a two level land-scaped podium. The corporate building is built to suit the specific workflow demands of the client in pharmaceutical business. It incorporates various environmental design strategies including a meticulous envelope, evaporative cooling and good daylighting.
The office building at the back offers large leasable floor plates for multiple tenants. This project has won national awards and has been featured in Domus magazine. AwardsIndian Institute of Architects, Excellence in Architecture, 2013ArchiDesign Awards, Best Commercial Building 2009

PROJECT ROLE/OFFICEDesign Development, Solar AnalysisMorphogenesis-Delhi
ABOUT THE PROJECTThe office building is a self shading structure designed for total solar exclusion for a designated period of time. The design minimis-es energy consumption and is derived from a LISP routine. The LISP programmes generates a series of polylines based on local solar geometry which then are selected to generate floor plates while maintaing the site setback conditions. The cantilevered floor plates were analysed to avoid direct glare thus enabling high
glazing ratios for good daylighting. The final building form was then rationalized based on structural inputs.
The triangular building has a fully glazed double faced with a strip atrium to avoid solar gain from the west. The triangular office has flexible floor plates that can used as one or in parts.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The design responds to the hot humid climate of Singapore by maximising the cooling effect ofprevailing winds in a mixed mode ventilation strategy. The building shape explores the venture effect to maximize wind speeds on the building facades. The induced pressure difference is expected to increase wind movement across the thin floor plates.
The building form is effectively broken down into modules of flexible workspaces suitable for contemporary flexi work styles. The multiple public spaces within the building promote interaction and collaborative work. The façade Design maximises daylight-ing and avoids glare.
