areer Counseling.

The career counseling session for class X was held on 30 Dec 2016. The

session was addressed by Principal Mrs Bindu Sharma. In the career counseling

session the following points have been discussed and counseled.

(a) Which stream to float on?

(b) Evaluating your true potential.

(c) Insight into career options.

(d) Assistance in goal setting.

(e) Inculcating confidence and motivation.

iterary Week. In order to inculcate reading and comprehending skills “Literary Week‟ was

observed in the school wef 20 – 30 Dec 2016. Students of Class VI- XI were given

topics related to the novels „R‟ by CBSE & were tasked to enact as „One Act Play‟ there by

making them learn beyond four walls. This Inter Class One Act Play was organized by

Thimayya house on 26 Dec to 29 Dec 2016. Classes were divided into two group i.e. Group

A (VI – VIII classes) and Group B (IX –XI classes). They presented the plays based on their

literature topic. Their English teacher guided them for the plays along with their class

teachers. The Participations acted enthusiastically and the students enjoyed the plays very

much. Class VII A /VII B stood first in Group A and Class XI A/XI B stood first in Group B.

aunch of “Shining Star Pvt Ltd by commerce students.

As APS Birpur, aims at honing 21st century skills of its students, in continuation of the

same, the students of commerce club along with the teacher in charge and under the guidance of Principal Mrs Bindu Sharma launched a company named “SHINING STAR PVT LTD.” The purpose being to acquaint them with the practical knowledge of „how to from a company‟ „what are the various documents required to file with the registration of the companies Act 1956, to get a company incorporated hence leading to subconscious learning. The students came up with a very meaningful and productive stage presentation related to:-

The concept of company.

Need of company.

Structure of company. The directors of the company Mrs Bindu Sharma Principal, Mrs Savita Tayal (PGT Com),Mr Manoj Bangwal (TGT SST), Mrs Charu Sharma (TGT SST) along with student members Miss Pinkey Dhami, Ms Minakshi, Master Digvijay introduced all the departments and their heads to the entire school.The company share was also launched at the same time. Altogether it was a magnificent show put by the students with lateral learning taking place.

ryabhata Week (Maths Week).

(a) Middle & Senior Wing. Maths week began in APS Birpur which will

commence from 23rd-28th Jan 2017. In the whole week, the students will be exposed

to do many activities related to Maths. The lists of the activities are.

(i) Special Assembly- Maths pledge, speech, mastermind story of value of zero. (ii) Sudoko Champions- To level up the brain power and increases the concentration power. (iii) Quiz – To provide a platform to explore the logical and analytical approach. (iv) Maths movies - To sensitize the learner to know much about great mathematician.

(b) Primary Wing. In primary wing the following activities will be conducted:-

(i) Fun with number competition.

(ii) BODMAS Competition.

(iii) Special Assembly – facts, poem, thoughts, and speech related to

maths will be taken.

pecial Theme Based Assembly

A special assembly was conducted to declare the theme of the month of

January, i.e. “Gender & Relationship resolve conflicts peacefully”. The children of the senior

wing participated and the assembly was witnessed by the students of classes VI to XI. The

speech introducing the theme of the month was delivered by Sneha of class X and at the

last the poem on „gender equality‟ was recited by Riya class XI.

rmy Day Observance

After the routine assembly the speech was presented by Sumit of class XI

on Army Day which was observed on 15th January. Then, Rishab of class 11 recited his

self-composed poem. On the same day theme boards titled “Tribute to Martyrs” were put up

in all the three wings so that the students could write their feeling for the great Martyrs of

the country.

in Marathon.

Mini Marathon was held in APS Birpur where the junior DAL NCC wing(boys & girls )

participated . It took place from school covering the distance to KV Birpur and back to

school. The mini marathon was flagged off by Principal, ANO Mr Shiv Kumar and Mrs

Durga Thapa of the School. The students were motivated to develop core qualities of the

NCC Cadets and lead disciplined life.

(a) NDA SSB 2017. Master Daleep Singh s/o Hav (Retd) Suresh

Singh an ex student of APS Birpur from session 2015-16 who cleared NDA written exam

appeared for SSB interview and has cracked SSB at Allahabad centre.

(b) Maths Olympiad. 04 students of APS Birpur have qualified for second

round of Maths Olympiad organized by “SOF”.

held at Dehradun.

(c) Simran Nautiyal of VIII B d/o Devendra Prasad bagged 01 Silver Medal in

Khelo India khelo boxing Championship at Dehradun.

ISIT

Maj Gen S C Mohanty, GOC, 14 RAPID(S) , Patron Army Public School , Birpur

visited the school on 18th Jan 2017 to felicitate students who brought laurels to the school in

various literary and sporting activities at different levels. A total of 55 students and 5

teachers were awarded for their achievements. In his address to the students, the Patron

appreciated the hard work put in by all and also encouraged the students to excel in

academics. Further, he interacted with class XII students where he advised them totarget

for a high API. He wished them good luck for the upcoming board exams and the future. He

was also briefed by the Principal Mrs Bindu Sharma regarding the working and efforts of

APS Birpur team as well.
