Certificates were distributed to the “Students of the Month” for the month May after reopening

of the school.

IMUN Session for Class IX , XI & XII

To sensitize the students on the concepts of Model UN a session for students of class IX, XI and

XII was organized by Mr Prashant Nagpal Director General on 13 July 2016, Mr Prashant elaborated on

the procedure of IIMUN and on the working of the body, which ensures peace and harmony. Points were

discussed on developing knowledge about different countries and on providing an atmosphere to develop the

personalities of the participants, it also created an open-minded view about the different global agendas. The

aim is to give the youth a platform to voice their opinions and on enhancing their communication skills. The

session was very innovative and informative. Students were also taught the skills of public speaking.

nter House Slogan Writing / Poster Making Competition

On July 15, 2016 Inter House Slogan Writing / Poster Making Competition was held in Primary

wing to sensitize the students towards their environment through creativity. All the students participated

with great enthusiasm and zeal.

CO Week 11 July – 16 July 2016 The school observed “Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna” week from 11 July to 16 July to mark the

Van Mahotsav, where the students of all the classes indulged in different activities. Discussions on

keeping the environment clean/ earthen pot sapling and oath by students to plant and preserve trees

were the main features of the week. A rally was also organized in school campus.

ducational Trip To Tons Valley Birpur Dehradun

On 16 July 2016, the students of all the sections of Class I and II along with their class teachers

(Ms Sangeeta L, Ms Ankita R, Ms Seema B, Mrs Reeta Chauhan & Mrs Usha R) visited Tons Valley Birpur.

The visit aimed to make students familiar of various landmarks which are being projected as models. (i.e.

Traffic Signals, Solar System, Places of Worship, Post Office, Hospitals, Police Station, Restaurant , Airport

etc.) The children seemed very excited and happy. It was fun and learn for them. The teachers guided all the

children and explained the importance of the various models to them.

EAR Day 22 Jul 2016

DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) programme was taken up by every person of school be

it students, teacher’s, fourth-class employee and Principal.

To give an insight of the democratic process for electing student council of APS Birpur Election was held in July. The process started with putting forward the criteria for the selection of the candidates and then distribution of forms for the various posts. Then seriotum was displayed in the school for the activities and the duties on which the activities to be conducted. Then as per schedule the list was made and finally shortlisted candidate were displayed. After getting the nominations for the various post as per seriotum and code of conduct. Without affecting school schedule everything was well organised and Election was conducted on 22nd July 2016. The polling booth was inaugurated by Principal Mam and Education Officer Major Aditi Goswami. Students of classes IX to XII and teachers teaching VI to XII were made to cast their valuable vote. The procedure was followed as per what we follow in our democratic system to make them understand about the election system of our country.

Competition

On July 22, 2016 Inter Class Thumb Painting /Finger Painting Competition was held in Primary wing to

enable the little hands come up with their superb creativity. All the children participated with great enthusiasm

and zeal.

Basketball Interhouse Basketball Competition was conducted from 25 Jul to 27 Jul 2016.

The winning house is Manekshaw House.

IIMUN Participation Around 28 students of APS Birpur will participate in IIMUN to be held at Ecole

Global School Dehradun.

Investiture Ceremony The formal ceremony to handover the responsibility to students after the

declaration of results of elections will be held on 30th July 2016. School Chairman Brig J S Shekhawat

VSM SC will be the Chief Guest of the day. The parents too will be the invited as guests.

Felicitation Ceremony Ceremony will be held on 30th July 2016 to felicitate the 10 CGPA

pointers of class X and toppers of class XII and those getting above 90% in individual subjects in the

presence of their parents.
