“The Sheridan House Sporting Clay event was a ton of fun and supported a great cause – resourcing families. I was shocked to find out my 12 year old son is secretly Wyatt Earp.”~ David Hughes, Church by the Glades
What a great event! Our 3 foursomes all had an incredible time and all of them had great things to say about Sheridan House and the event. I’m sure they will all be back next year and will bring their friends!~ Dan Whiteman, Coastal Construction
On March 2, 81 shooters joined us in “Helping Families Stay On Target”
at our inaugural Sporting Clay Tournament.
This fun-filled day at Quail Creek Plantation
allowed individuals and businesses to
come together in a spirit of fellowship and
camaraderie to make a difference in the lives
of children and families in need.

which will directly benefit resourcing the families we serve daily.WITH THEIR SUPPORT WE RAISED OVER $53,000
On a recent afternoon the boys in our homes quickly got out of the vans bringing them home from school. They were racing to get ready for the much anticipated Sheridan House Boys vs. Sheridan House Staff Flag Football game. This annual game had already been rained out once, so they wanted to take full advantage of the sunshine. Little did they know that they had a new quarterback waiting to play on their team: former NFL great, Chad Pennington.
Chad arrived 30 minutes early in order to greet the boys as they walked on our field. He then learned the name of each boy as he put them through passing drills. “It was amazing to me,” said Bob Barnes. “Chad learned every boys name and then during the game
he made sure every boy caught a pass. It was a blessing for us and emotional for the parents of the boys watching the game. There are times in life when you get to see people use what they have to bless the least of these and Chad did just that.
We got to see it that day.”
For the first time in Sheridan House history the boys didn’t lose the game. Once Chad made sure every child had received a pass he went to work. Chad and the boys came back from near defeat as
the clocked ticked to zero. Each boy walked away a winner. Each was able to say he caught a pass from an NFL Quarterback and not just any quarterback – a pass from the NFL’s #1 Ranked Career Pass Completion Percentage Quarterback. The parents walked away proud of their boys and grateful for
Chad’s influence on their son’s life that day. Chad walked away smiling and thanking Sheridan
House for the opportunity to serve the Lord as he used his
skill to bless these boys. It was a truly memorable day!
Little did they know that they had a new quarterback waiting to play on their team: former NFL great, Chad Pennington.
Why would people spend $500 to drive two hours north to shoot clays…or $5,000 to play golf…or pay more for an auction item than it is really worth? Logically, none of those activities or possessions is worth the investment.
So why are so many of our supporters motivated to do so both willingly and joyfully? - Because they know they are helping families in Jesus’ name. During the first half of 2012, we have five fundraising events – the Family Values 5K, Sporting Clay Tournament, Motorcycle Run, Golf Invitational at Indian Creek, and the Spring Auction. We aren’t hosting these events just to give all of us something to do – we know everyone is busy enough. We are doing it because we are committed to carry out our mission to share God’s plan for every family. At each of these events, local businesses, churches, families,
A Note From Bob - and individuals come together to change lives by offering help to every family. Our supporters get it!
This month, we have 2 event opportunities for you to enjoy. On Monday, April 23, we are hosting a Golf Invitational at Indian Creek Country Club. It is a unique experience that will be sure to please any golfer. We are also hosting our 32nd Annual Spring Auction on Friday, April 27, in the Global Event Center of First Baptist Church Fort Lauderdale.
We would love for you to join us as we partner together to honor Christ by offering Help For Every Family.
