lowerutility bills!more green jobs in Napa County!more work forlocal contractors!

are you: a Napa-based contractorwho would like to be doing more

work, and is interested in residential energy efciency retrots?

a Napa County homeownerwho would like to lower utilitybills but doesnt know where to start, or doesnt have cash to spare?

check out:Energy Upgrade Californias Home Retrot Programenergyupgradeca.org

Homeowners can choose to pursue either a Basic Retrot (includes sevenmeasures, will reduce energy use by about 10% and will give a xedincentive of $1000) or the Advanced Upgrade (based on a home energyassessment with customized solutions qualifying for incentives of $1250 to$4000). All homeowners are eligible for this program; there is no income limit. To get started, homeowners can contact a contractor listed on the EUC website.

Contractors who want to participate must meet the requirements shown onthe EUC website AND participate in required training.

Currently (as of March 2011) there are no Napa County contractors signedup for the program. As a result, interested homeowners will have to contactcontractors from neighboring counties.

    CHF Residential Energy Retrot Programchoan.org/Programs/Energy/energy_program.html

California Rural Home Mortgage Finance Authority (CHF) is a government

agency serving rural counties, one of which is Napa. CHF provides nancialhelp to homeowners who want to get more energy efcient:

    Free home energy audit

3% xed rate, 15 year loans for the post-rebate costs of retrots (and rightnow 0% loans for homeowners in Napa County)

Grants of up to $1250 to cover part of the retrot costs and additionalgrants to cover the pre- and post- retrot inspections (and lower the loan amount)

Contractors must apply to CHF to be certied and take the required CHF training.

Homeowners must have income at or below $130,000/year.

ATTENTION CONTRACTORS!Training for both programs is happening in early April;check out the websites for details. If we can showenough local interest, CHF might be willing to do aNapa-based contractor orientation.supporting a sustainable future
