My ability to speak several languages, Armenian, Russian, French will help with getting more of Burbankcommunity to be involved as well as relate to as a fellow immigrant. When I left my birth country, Armenia,I was only 15 years old and still saw the pain in my parents eyes having to give up the home they workedhard to build for their family. But in our case we knew we were escaping a regime that did not have ourbest interests and coming to a country where we would not be persecuted and with hard work we couldown our home again. Currently our country and especially our county is facing some extremehomelessness statistics. The cost of housing has been rising and the number of housing is scarce to saythe least. I like to work with the city leaders and the community to help and come up with solutions foraffordable housing especially for those in lower income households.
