APM Terminals has invested in a 50:50 Joint Venture Company with the Indian Railways, called *Pipavav Railway Corporation Limited,

a maiden Public - Private Partnership in rail transportation. The port was also the first to introduce double stack trains in India.

In collaboration with Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and several private operators, the port has enhanced its connectivity to all the major ICDs in North West India. Regular train services, double stack trains and exclusive reefer rakes have improved efficiencies and made Port Pipavav easily accessible.

Port Pipavav is the only port in Gujarat to have dedicated reefer rakes from Dadri. This provides direct connections to Middle East, Far East, Egypt, Mediterranean, African and European Ports.

The port also actively pursues coastal connectivity and feeder cargo for West and South Indian Ports, as back haul for Coastal Cargo is head haul for International cargo, creating a ‘win-win’ situation for all. With the additional storage, the port can handle petroleum products, chemicals, edible oil, bitumen and LPG cargo.

Port Pipavav is located right in the heart of the seafood belt in South Gujarat.

Gujarat is the largest exporter of seafood in India. With increased demand from SE Asia, the state has rapidly improved its export facilities. Port Pipavav support this growth with a dedicated reefer area and a large number of reefer plugs. The port has access to a rich reefer hinterland of approximately 40,000 TEUs annually and is the leader both in volume and value of seafood exports.

Marine Services Marine services are entirely handled by the port without any third party operators. Facilities include: 4 vessels, 1 launch, 3 tugboats (Bollard Pull of 35, 50 & 60). Radar, VHF, NAVTEX, Automatic Weather Station and Automatic Information System.

A dedicated Marketing Team with members located in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, New Delhi, Jaipur and Ludhiana, support customers and facilitate smooth hinterland logistics. The team members come with many years of experience in ports, shipping, freight forwarding and cargo interests.

Future Port DevelopmentsThe port has a 30 year concession with Gujarat Maritime Board

and has the right to develop 1561 acres of land. Apart from

the already developed port infrastructure, there is adequate

land available for future expansions which include:
