College student contact information needed: Letters were sent to all college students
asking for Fall 2018 contact information: school, address, email, phone. Only eight
have responded. Parents, can you help us out? Please send to
Church Council News from August 12, 2018:
Received a report from the Cub Scout Pack 236 and Boy Scout Troop 236
Committees. “If girls want to become Cub Scouts chartered by FBUMC, then have
the parents of those girls provide the required adult leaders and establish an all-girl
Pack. Adults from Pack 236 are willing to help establish another Pack, but they
believe it would be too many Scouts to try to manage in one unit if girls were added
to the existing Pack. If girls join a Pack at FBUMC, then they should have an all-
girl Troop (as required by BSA) at FBUMC into which they can move up. The all-
girl Troop could share the same committee with Troop 236 (“linked committee” by
BSA nomenclature) with its own Scoutmaster or have a completely separate
committee.”
Approved to purchase the Lovejoy property (tan brick house beside the Virginia
House/Scout Hut) for $65,000 to be paid from church CD’s. Plans are to demolish
the house and provide additional parking.
Sidewalk repair, parking lot paving, restriping, and installation of a new sign on
Virginia Avenue is to begin soon.
Considered a contract with Genesis (Craig Loscalzo) to guide us through a 2 year
loan reduction campaign in the fall.
Building Expenses to date: $3,529,973
Loan Balance: $1,784,953
Pledges Received to date: $1,031,259
