The BackPack Buddies summer boxes were packed yesterday and soon will be on the way to community member in need. This past school year, we provided 89 children with breakfast, lunch, and snacks each weekend. Your continued support through the summer will help prepare us for the beginning of the next school year. Items needed are: individually wrapped portions of breakfast cereal or instant oatmeal, individual servings of mac & cheese, ravioli, Spaghettios, beanie weenies, Vienna sausages, Ramen noodles, soup, individual servings of packaged fruit, raisins, cookies, granola bars, Slim Jims, etc. We also accept monetary donations. Thank you for joining us in being the hands and feet of Christ to these children. Also, please donate your clean, gently used, plastic grocery bags. We double bag the food for each child, each week, so bag donations are an ongoing need. Look for the grey cart in the Narthex. Spring Heights is the camping and outdoor facility of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, located just north of Spencer. Science and the Bible: Chris Clark will lead this 6-week class, beginning Wednesday evening, June 15, and concluding July 27 (with one week off for VBS). Forrest Burdette To Receive Annual Conference Award: Forrest Burdette is one of two churches in the West Virginia Annual Conference to receive the "One Matters Discipleship Award" as an affirmation of our making new disciples for Jesus Christ. This award will be presented during the Saturday, June 11, 2:00 p.m. session of the Annual Conference at Wesley Chapel, West Virginia Wesleyan, Buckhannon.
