The BackPack Buddies summer boxes were packed yesterday and
soon will be on the way to community member in need. This past school year, we
provided 89 children with breakfast, lunch, and snacks each weekend. Your continued
support through the summer will help prepare us for the beginning of the next school year.
Items needed are: individually wrapped portions of breakfast cereal or instant oatmeal,
individual servings of mac & cheese, ravioli, Spaghettios, beanie weenies, Vienna
sausages, Ramen noodles, soup, individual servings of packaged fruit, raisins, cookies,
granola bars, Slim Jims, etc. We also accept monetary donations. Thank you for joining
us in being the hands and feet of Christ to these children. Also, please donate your clean,
gently used, plastic grocery bags. We double bag the food for each child, each week, so
bag donations are an ongoing need. Look for the grey cart in the Narthex.

The Great Thanksgiving
Our Lord’s Prayer No. 895
Giving the Bread and Cup—You are invited to come and receive communion by
“intinction”. As you come forward you will receive a piece of bread which you will dip
into the cup. After you partake you may choose to pray at the altar rail. As United
Methodists, we celebrate “open communion”, meaning it is not necessary to belong to this
congregation to receive the sacrament. John Wesley believed the sacrament had “saving
power”, and no one should be denied. Children are always welcome. During communion
please join with others in singing the following hymns: UMH 380, 381, 382, 383.
(8:30) Closing Hymn No. 600 “Wonderful Words of Life”
(11:00) Praise Song “This is Amazing Grace”
Service of Light Jesus said, “You are the Light of the World.”
Benediction “Let There Be Peace on Earth”
