Being on LinkedIn builds credibility
Your LinkedIn Profile gives potential clients another experience of you and presents you
differently than your website
LinkedIn Profiles show up high in Google Searches because it’s a highly regarded website
Your target market is probably on LinkedIn (well paid professionals and successful business
owners with an average of over a six figure income)
Your potential clients can find you on LinkedIn (it’s a great place to market)
2. How can a Coach give the right first impression with their LinkedIn Profile?

Use keywords that your potential clients would use to find you.
Use your chosen keywords in the areas of your Profile that are thought to have more weight in
LinkedIn’s Search Algorithm:

Skills Section
Use your chosen keywords throughout your profile as well.
NOTE: The LinkedIn Search Algorithm is the formula LinkedIn uses to return results in LinkedIn
Searches. To appear as high as possible in a LinkedIn Search, you would want to optimize
placement and repletion of Keywords.

This is the Specialties Section which you can access through your Summary Section.
This is a high Search Algorithm impact section:
LinkedIn Skills Section (new section in Beta Test)
The Skills Section of your LinkedIn Profile is a new section in Beta Test. This section is also thought to
have a high impact on the LinkedIn Search Algorithm. This section is a bit different than the other
sections because as you start to type a keyword into it, Linked auto fills the word with different variations
of the word.
You can type in your own term that isn’t in LinkedIn’s list, but I believe that the auto-fill feature is what
drives the search engine. So I would suggest you choose auto-filled terms.
You can choose up to 50 terms in the Skills section and I would recommend choosing 50 terms to
increase the terms you will be found under in LinkedIn searches. My “6 Weeks to More Success

detail.

4. How can you make yourself easily accessible through your LinkedIn Profile?
Include your contact information in multiple places on your Profile so people don’t have to go looking for it. (I’ve highlighted in yellow the places I put my contact information in each of the Profile Section examples.)
Include your contact information in your Personal Information Section (sometimes people block
this information from visibility or don’t fill it in).
Give your E-mail Address and a phone number. From my experience, people who find you on LinkedIn are more likely to E-mail than call you, but you want give them both options.

5. What are tips for creating an “Attractive” LinkedIn® Profile?
Write for the screen
Use short, concise segments of text
Give your reader visual signposts (dashes, bullet points, commas, colons, symbols, ALL
Caps, white space). (Examples are highlighted in orange).
You cannot type symbols directly into your LinkedIn Profile but you can Copy and Paste
symbols into it. I provide symbols you can Copy and Paste into your Profile on the Free
Tools page of
www.GetLinkedInNow.com

readability, and define acronyms
Click on “View my profile as others see it” and review your profile to ensure your Profile is
readable and appealing to viewers
Ask friends and colleagues to review your Profile and give you feedback
6. How can a Coach use their LinkedIn Profile to sell their Coaching services?
Write the Summary Section in first person
Write about how the Client will benefit from your services
Share results you have achieved
Fill out your Profile completely so that clients can see your business experience (in my case, a client might be attracted to my Human Resources, Process Improvement, Training and/or Team Building experience)
Show your Industry experience (again, clients are often attracted to my Healthcare, Manufacturing, and/or Aerospace experience)
It’s also good to know how many characters you have available for each section so that you can maximize your message
