    1Information About This DocumentValidityThis manual is valid for the antenna extension kit "ANTEXTKIT25-10".Target GroupThis manual is intended for skilled workers. Only qualified personnel are allowed to perform the tasks set forth in this manual (see section 2.2Target Group Qualification (page9)).Nomenclature

    In this manual, SMA America Production, LLC and SMA Solar Technology Canada Inc. are hereinafter referred to as SMA.

    ANTEXTKIT25-10 is referred to as the antenna extension kit in this manual.

    2Safety2.1Appropriate UsageThe antenna extension kit is used to improve the radio link between the communication interface in the inverter and the communication product. Only skilled workers may install the antenna extension kit. The antenna extension kit may only be installed with the following communication interfaces:

    SMA ZigBee PiggyBack SMA Bluetooth PiggyBack Plus

    2.2Target Group QualificationA trained skilled worker has received training and demonstrated skills and knowledge regarding the functions and operation of the device. An trained skilled worker is trained to deal with the dangers and hazards involved in installing electrical systems.

    2.3Safety InstructionsDANGER

    There is a risk of lethal electric shock when touching conductive parts of the inverter. Prior to performing any work on the inverter, disconnect the inverter on the AC and

    DC sides (see inverter installation guide).

    NOTICE

    Damage to the antenna extension cable is possible. Do not bend the antenna extension cable.

    3Antenna Extension Kit DescriptionThe antenna extension kit is used to improve the radio link between the communication interface in the inverter and the communication product. To do this, the antenna extension cable on the inverter is connected to the antenna socket and is mounted on the wall with the antenna bracket.

    5Installation5.1Installing the antenna extension cable on the inverter

    1. Unscrew the antenna from the antenna cable.

    2. Remove the cable ties from the antenna extension cable.3. Hand-tighten the antenna extension cable along

    with the cable end and the socket on the antenna plug without using any tools.

    A circular dead spot (A) begins at the tip of the antenna. If a communication device is positioned in this dead spot, the communication device cannot receive any radio waves from the antenna.

    1. Mark the position of the mounting holes on the wall: observe the length of the antenna extension cable. If the inverter with the communication interface

    is above or below the communication product, hold the antenna bracket so that the side with the slot is facing to the side.

    If the inverter with the communication interface is to the right or left of the communication product, hold the antenna bracket so that the side with the slot is facing up.

    2. If screw anchors are used, drill the holes into the marked positions and insert the screw anchors.

    DANGER

    Risk of electric shock by drilling into power cables.Death or serious injuries.

    Check mounting location for power cables prior to the installation. If there are power cables at the mounting location, select a different mounting location.

    Dead spotThe antenna can be mounted horizontally or vertically, depending on how the antenna bracket is installed.

    Install the antenna bracket so that the communication device is not in the antenna's dead spot (see figure 2).

    3. Attach the antenna bracket to the wall with the mounting elements.

    5.3Installing the antenna extension cable on the antenna bracket1. Unscrew the counter nut approx. 1364 in. (5 mm)

    on the antenna extension cable from the plug.

    2. Slide the washer to the counter nut.

    3. Slide the antenna extension cable plug from the inside of the antenna bracket into the slot of the antenna bracket. In doing so, make sure that the washer and the counter nut are on the outside of the antenna bracket.

    4. Hand-tighten the counter nut on the antenna extension cable plug.

    5. Hand-tighten the antenna on the antenna extension cable plug.

    1. Unscrew the antenna from the antenna extension cable plug.

    2. Unscrew the counter nut from the antenna extension cable plug.

    3. Slide the washer to the counter nut.

    4. Remove the antenna extension cable plug from the antenna bracket's slot.

    5. Unscrew the antenna extension cable on the inverter from the antenna socket.

    6. Screw the antenna on the inverter to the antenna socket.

    7. Remove the mounting elements from the wall. In doing so, hold the antenna bracket securely.

    6.2Disposing of the antenna extension kit Observe the disposal regulations for electronic waste that apply at the installation site when

    disposing of the antenna extension kit. In order to have us dispose of the antenna extension kit, send the kit back to SMA at your own

    cost, labeled "FOR DISPOSAL".
