¡Felices vacaciones!

Good morning. Welcome to our second tour of thestreets of New Delhi. Today we are looking at Indianpeople’s clothes. You can see some Indians are wearingclothes like you or I wear every day, but you can alsosee people in more traditional clothes. Many men weardhotis. These are simple trousers. The dhotis are largeand loose.

Now look at that woman, she’s wearing a beautiful sari.Saris are long dresses and are usually very colourful. Ifyou look at the other woman’s forehead, you will see herkumkum. The kumkum is a round, red dot in the middleof her forehead.

Clothes in India are usually light and comfortablebecause the weather is so hot.

next month. Michael: So what are you going to do?Annie: Well, if I had enough money, I would go on

Michael: That’s boring. If I had money, I would travelaround Europe, from city to city, the wholesummer.

Annie: Well, you’d be so busy, you wouldn’t havetime to have a rest. I would take a boat andsail around until I found the island of mydreams. And if I’m lucky, I’ll land on anisland with buried treasure.

Good evening and welcome! Here we are at the BatCaves, the summer home to thousands of bats. Everyevening they all fly out together into the sunset and everymorning they return home. As they fly out, they turn anddive very fast. Even the baby bats, born in the earlysummer, fly along. It’s a fantastic sight and sound. Youwill be happy you stayed to watch.Where are all these bats going? Well, they are going outfor their dinner, and you can be sure they’ll find lots ofjuicy insects to eat near areas of water. The bats alwaysfeed at night and return to sleep in the caves during theday. In the winter months, these bats leave these caves, butthey always return the following summer. Look, the sun is setting and the bats are going to comeout of their caves any minute now. Are you ready? Look, you can see them coming. Can you hear them too? Isn’tit incredible?
