Axle Counting Mechanism – Conventional Sensor

An Insight into MSDAC-G39 23

▪ Digital Axle Counter system works in Phase reversal principle for counting / detecting thewheels through track devices.

▪ Transmitter voltage is fed to transmitter winding to build magnetic field. This Magnetic field iscoupled to receiver coil through magnetic coupling.

▪ Whenever Wheel passes over the RX coil, the flange of the Train wheel cuts the magnetic fluxinduced between TX and RX.

▪ Solid mass of the wheel can block the signals and some flux lines are reflected through flange.

▪ The flange of the wheel can reflect the magnetic flux in to RX coil for creating phase reversal.
