On behalf of the Aluminium Caster's Association of India, it gives me immense pleasure to invite you to ALUCAST 2009 at Yashada, Pune, India from 11th to 13th December 2009.

With India being the focus of attention of the world manufacturing industry and being looked upon as a capable and competent supplier for castings and

assemblies we felt that “Preparing To Go Global” would be a suitable theme for ALUCAST 2009.

Indian industry is growing due to internal demand and the growing interest of the international manufacturers in the Indian Die Casting Industry as suppliers. The stringent demands of quality to cater to the International market will demand changes in the working methods of Indian industry.

Technical papers presented by experts from International and National companies will give us an insight into the techniques and technologies available to the industry for improved working. The conference will also give all of us an opportunity to interact with our peers from industry both within the country and abroad.

The technical papers to be presented are to cover a wide range of topics that include, papers on technology, new processes, customer expectations, business practices, process control, energy saving, machining practices, finance and other management topics. The much discussed, and in today's world extremely significant, environmental issues are also to be covered.

I am sure that this conference will help us set new standards of excellence to meet the international industry expectations and promote the growth of our exports.

It gives me great pleasure to invite once again to

ALUCAST 2009. The theme this year is

“PREPARING TO GO GLOBAL”. The event is to be

held at Yashada, Pune, India from 11-13 December

2009.

This will be the fifteenth conference of ALUCAST.

The event this year will be a comparatively modest

event in preparation for our Mega Event to be held in 2010.

The demand for aluminium castings and components is on the rise as

India marches on towards becoming the global hub for the

automobile production companies. The requirements of castings,

sub assemblies and assemblies with “Zero Defect” quality

requirements and others like JUST IN Time deliveries pose a real

challenge to Indian manufacturers.

Though the past year has been quite gloomy for the industry world

wide, it has given industry time to rethink on improving working

methods and strategies. I am sure that many of us have worked

towards this end. Economist's worldwide are again predicting an end

to the recessionary times and signaling that we should be prepared

for an upswing in business and “Prepare To Go Global”, thus the

theme for the conference.

This year the conference will be spread over three days and see

twenty one papers presented, as usual by a mix of International and

Indian authors who are considered experts in their respective fields.

Some product presentations are also on the agenda.

As President of the Aluminium Casters' association of India, I extend

to you a warm welcome to the event and am sure you will be

immensely benefited by being present. I look forward to your active
