8 The Pastor’s Pen
A publication of All Saints Lutheran Church, Port Orange, Fl.
A Word from Pastor Stan In last months Trumpet, I published a Volunteer list which included a list of things we need your help with. I hope you have taken some time to look at it, and identify how you can help. We have had a couple of things taken care of but still need you. The list has been included in this Trumpet as well, so if you haven't already, take a look and see how you can help. Last week at worship I announced that I want to visit each of our member families during the next couple of months. I want to take the opportunity to check in with all of you and make sure we are helping you remain connected with our family of faith. These visits will be scheduled for 20 minutes each. If I run over that, please send me on my way. I will meet you wherever you are comfortable. I know that these days for a lot of people having the pastor over means cleaning house etc. I don't want to create any work for you so we can meet in my office or a restaurant or another place where you feel comfortable. There is a sign up list in the narthex available for you to sign up for a visit, or you can call Liz during the week and schedule your time. I look forward to meeting with you soon.

This is Weird!
July 7 through July 11, All Saints Lutheran Church will be holding our Vacation Bible
School, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. each day. Snacks and lunch will be provided - for
FREE!
Our theme this year is WEIRD ANIMALS - where Jesus' Love Is One-of-a-Kind.
Each day we will be exploring weird animals from all over the world and how they can
help us understand that Jesus' love is truly one-of-a-kind. We'll learn about axolotls, leafy
sea dragons, star-nosed moles, tenrecs, and frilled lizards. They will show us that even
when you're left out, even though you're different, even when you don't understand, even
though you do wrong, and even when you're afraid, JESUS LOVES YOU!
We have lots of skits, songs to learn, strange gizmos to experiment with, games to play,
stories to hear, goodies to eat, and videos to watch about children whose lives and
experiences may be different from our own.
Come joint us and be WEIRD! Please call the church office for registration forms or
Margene Johns (608-554-4124) with any questions.
Look out; I’m on my way to
VBS at All Saints!
The After School Advisory Board
thanks everyone who gave to
many events that helped us to
reach our goal of $2000.00 for
our summer camp and after
school programs. This is a very
special outreach program for our
church.

News from Our Scouts
BOY SCOUT TROOP 456 gave it their all this
year. The scouts participated in camping trips
with both the troop and the d istrict. We have
two more Eagle scouts this year and two more in
the works. Thank you to All Saints for your
prayers for all of our scouts. Right now we are at
Camp LaNoChe summer camp for the week
where the boys will earn merit badges as well as
having fun – as long as the mosquitoes leave
them alone! Our leaders take a week of vacation
time from their full time jobs to go to this camp
– thank you leaders! We meet most of the
summer so say “hello” when you see us.
Thanks for having us!!
