Alianza’s Cloud Voice Platform is an integrated and turnkey approach that allows service

ARCHITECTURE

The Alianza Cloud Voice Platform consolidates and integrates 10-15 functional elements required to deliver voice services.

The horizontal integration results in a single management interface to manage, provision and troubleshoot voice services.

This single view helps drive down operational costs, facilitates scalability and accelerates problem resolution. Using

flexible Application Programming Interface (API) and web-based management portals, service providers can simplify

management and cost-effectively scale their voice business. Leveraging open standards, Alianza’s Cloud Voice Platform

supports a broad device, back-office and carrier services ecosystem.

Core Platform – Alianza hosts and manages all the elements to deliver voice services. The complete technology package,

includes signaling, media, service logic, billing, provisioning and carrier services.

Logic Layer – Alianza’s Logic Layer binds all the pieces of the Core Platform together and enables the platform to be

managed as a single integrated system rather than as individual point solutions. The Alianza API enables service providers

to integrate the management functionality into their proprietary web portals or back office systems. Interactions with

Alianza’s API are based on industry-accepted standards and secure protocols. Data Feeds integrate billing data and other

report transfers between Alianza’s platform and the service provider’s invoicing, CRM and operational support systems.

Web Access – Leveraging the Logic Layer, Alianza provides web-based management portals for the service provider’s

operational staff and end-users.

Services – Alianza’s rich set of end-user features and calling plans can be packaged in multiple ways to create residential,

CORE PLATFORM COMPONENTS

Alianza hosts and manages all the functional and network elements required to deliver a complete voice service to

subscribers. The Alianza core platform is standards-based, including support of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and IP

Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) specifications and common voice codecs. Leveraging the Logic Layer, there is a single, unified

management system to configure, change and operate all these elements, which significantly streamlines voice services

operations. The six major components of the core platform include:

Session Border Controller – Analyzes and

modifies VoIP signaling and media flows

to ensure interoperability, security and

control across IP network boundaries.

The SBC protects the Alianza voice core

from external attacks and overloads.

The SBC also provides NAT traversal

and secure pinholes that enable VoIP

delivery when end-user devices are

located behind a firewall or use private

IP address spaces.

Session Management – Alianza’s

core softswitch functionality handles

device registration, call routing, and

setup and teardown for on-net and

off-net calls.

Feature Server – The application server

that runs the service logic for processing

and managing end-user features. The Alianza

Feature Server also includes the media

server to play and process prompts,

tones and announcements and provides

a complete voice mail system.

Carrier Interface – Software and API set that

manages PSTN origination and termination

for domestic and international traffic. This

interface facilitates and automates number

inventory management, number portability,

and compliance with emergency services

and lawful intercept. With multiple carrier

connections, Alianza helps minimize cost

with least-cost routing and improve quality

with failover routing. The Carrier Interface

includes real-time monitoring and alerts

for fraud activity.

Billing Support System – Enables service

providers to define rates, billing cycles and

charges associated with the voice services

they create for end-users. Alianza’s billing

support system also rates individual call

detail records (CDRs) and tracks monthly

recurring charges, nonrecurring charges

and other transactions. These transactions

are calculated in real-time and compiled

into reports available to both end-users

and service provider staff.

Device Provisioning – Facilitates the auto-pro-

visioning of CPE. Once devices are successfully

installed, future configuration changes such as

scheduled updates or upgrades are automatically

performed by Alianza without any intervention

from the end-user or service provider staff.

Alianza’s Cloud Voice Platform transforms communications delivery so that service providers can thrive with superior

economics and functionality. It replaces the need to build and run a voice network, while enabling service providers to

offer and profit from voice services.
