LifeSir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock born 13 August 1899 – 29 April 1980 was an English filmmaker and producer. He pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres. After a successful career in United Kingdom Hitchcock moved to Hollywood. In 1956 he became an American citizen. Hitchcock directed more than fifty feature films in a career spanning six decades.

Hitchcock died on 29 April 1980, 9:17AM. He died peacefully in his sleep due to renal failure in his Bel Air, Los Angeles, California home at the age of 80, survived by his wife and their daughter. His funeral service was held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Beverly Hills. Hitchcock's body was cremated and his ashes were scattered over the Pacific Ocean.

Career / Technique•He started off by making films in the UK but they weren't very good and did not screen in the cinemas.•He soon started making success with some of his films.•After he moved to America to start fresh.•He started making films, mostly thrillers, which made a big success in America.•Hitchcock's films during the 1940s were diverse, ranging from the romantic comedy to the courtroom drama, to the dark and disturbing films.•Alfred Hitchcock’s techniques in his films were mostly to create suspense through his thriller movies. He did this to keep his audiences on edge and keep them wanting to watch on.•Hitchcock appeared many of his own films, for example, seen struggling to get a double bass onto a train, or walking dogs in the background.
