EcoVolt solutions are the world’s first completely modular, automated wastewater-to-energy solutions. Leveraging electrically-active microbes, EcoVolt solutions take advantage of the energy found in high-strength, organic wastewater streams – up to 3 kWh per kg of biological oxygen demand (BOD). EcoVolt solutions across the United States efficiently treat wastewater while extracting clean energy and clean water, allowing food and beverage producers to both cut wastewater management costs and achieve sustainability goals.

Energy-PositiveThe EcoVolt Reactor, Cambrian’s flagship product, is an energy-positive wastewater treatment solution that cuts facility wastewater management and energy costs. Renewable biogas powers the EcoVolt Reactor, and excess energy is returned to the customer as electricity and heat.

With the addition of an energy-efficient EcoVolt MBR, customers can fully close the resource loop and achieve energy-neutral wastewater treatment and water reuse.

THE ECOVOLT PRODUCT SUITE

Each EcoVolt solution includes prefabricated process units manufactured entirely within the United States. Solutions are managed by a containerized controls and automation center, and are designed to support flexible capacity increase.

The EcoVolt ReactorThe EcoVolt Reactor is an enhanced anaerobic digester ideal for food and beverage producers with wastewater flows between 10,000 and 300,000 gallons per day. It eliminates 80 to 90 percent of BOD from the waste stream while converting carbon into renewable biogas (over 30 kW/Reactor).

The EcoVolt MBRThe EcoVolt MBR (membrane bioreactor) is an aerobic digester using state-of-the-art aeration, robust membrane filtration, and a dynamically integrated controls architecture to remove remaining solids and contaminants for complete polishing and water reuse. The EcoVolt MBR can handle flows up to 75,000 gallons per day, and removes over 99 percent of BOD and total suspended solids (TSS). It integrates seamlessly with the EcoVolt Reactor for a complete treatment train, and can also be used as a standalone solution.

The EcoVolt MINIThe EcoVolt MINI is an all-in-one wastewater treatment and water reuse container, incorporating technology from both the EcoVolt Reactor and the EcoVolt MBR. It removes 99 percent of BOD and TSS, and is perfect for smaller, growing food and beverage producers with wastewater flows between 2,000 and 15,000 gallons per day.
