GeoManager Admin & User Guide Addendum

1.0 GeoManager 9.2 Enhancements This section of the GeoManager Admin & User Guide Addendum covers enhancements to Trimble GeoManager with the June 4, 2010 release of GeoManager 9.2, which include:

Optimized Clustering Feature We have improved the vehicle clustering feature on the map that made it difficult for you to manage smaller vehicle population groups. The clustering feature now allows you to turn clustering on and off from the Map Actions menu, as shown in Figure 7.

Figure 7: Cluster Options

The Clustering feature also shows up to 10 items for each cluster dialog box, shown in Figure 8, placing fewer clusters on the map and helping you see more information about each cluster. Each vehicle or Landmark in a cluster has the yellow square and green circle icons, shown in Figure 9, that allow you to access dialog box information for that vehicle or Landmark, saving you the need to zoom in on the map to get the information.

Clear Filter Button You are now able to clear the Filter field and view all devices or Landmarks with the press of a button. The Clear Filter button, shown and highlighted in Figure 10, clears the Filter field, allowing you to view all devices or redefine your search criteria.

Figure 10: Clear Filter Button

Select from Multiple Addresses and Points of Interest When you are using the Zoom to Address feature without a complete address, a box will appear offering you multiple address options from which you can choose, as shown in Figure 11, so that you can select the address closest to where you want to see.

Figure 11: Select Address Box

You may also use the Map menu to find a Point of Interest near a specific location, as shown in Figure 12, such as coffee shops or hardware stores.

Tip of the Day In an ongoing effort to help customers master their use of GeoManager, our Training department has implemented a Tip of the Day dialog box, shown in Figure 13. Each day users will see a new tip along with “Previous Tip” and “Next Tip” buttons to view more than one tip.

Figure 13: Tip of the Day Dialog Box

Track Selection The new Track Selection allows a device/Landmark to be tracked continuously throughout a time period. When Track Selection is On, any device/Landmark highlighted from the device/Landmark is continuously tracked on the map, causing the map to pan when the device/Landmark moves.

Dynamic Results Pane Only Available If Device/Landmark Is Selected Dynamic menus were incorporated to dynamically enable features when applicable. For example, device-specific features are enabled when a device is selected. Some features under Device and Landmarks are disabled by default, so you must select a device or Landmark before these features are available. When a feature under Device/Landmark actions is unavailable, a pop-up box indicates the cause of the disabled status.
