Dear Colleague,

On behalf of IQPC, it is a pleasure to invite you to take part in the 2nd Annual Wind Power Egypt Conference in Cairo.

The Egyptian renewable energy strategy is targeting 20% of the electricity generation by year 2022 with 7110 MW to be generated by wind. Egypt boasts exceptional wind conditions and will soon become the regional hub for wind energy generation. Currently, the country has three renewable energy development schemes which includes competitive bidding, IPP and Feed-in Tariff (FiT) and have opened multiple opportunities for small and large projects. The FiT scheme in particular has proven to be very attractive which will help generate 2000 MW from wind energy installations with projects capacities ranging from 20 MW up to 50 MW.

With several wind power projects in the pipeline and increased credibility of Egypt’s renewable energy market, this conference will be a platform to discuss the second stage of wind power development in Egypt. This is the only event in the country that focuses purely on wind power projects and will gather government bodies, investors, developers and all key stakeholders to exchange ideas and best practices for further development of Egypt’s wind energy market.

The event will provide you with a key opportunity to gain answers to any questions you might have regarding wind power development in Egypt. Plus, the event will combine a first-class exhibition with a high quality conference focusing on key issues including investments, project update and schemes available, grid integration and energy storage.

Together with the speakers and organisers, I look forward meeting you at the 2nd Annual Wind Power Egypt Conference from 9-11 October 2016. Let us continue to promote and strengthen wind energy generation.

Yours Sincerely, Dr. Mohammed Salah ElSobkiExecutive ChairmanNew and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA)Egypt
